Baron Davis Had More Fun in Golden State

Even though Baron Davis is moving back home to Los Angeles, he still needs to adjust to life in Hollywood. That entails getting used to paparazzi flashing bulbs when he takes his shirt off on the beach to prove that he’s actually on Jenny Craig. But even more so, that means that he needs to get in with a whole new set of teammates. Lucky for Boom, he’s cool with the guys on the Clips.

Baron hasn’t reached Steve Francis-status with Cuttino Mobley quite yet (rumors are that they lived in the same room in the same house when they played together), but he says Cut is a free spirit who reminds him of Stephen Jackson. He said Marcus Camby is like an older brother and Chris Kaman should have a reality show based off of him.

But as cool as those guys might be, BD admitted that the atmosphere in Golden State was a lot more fun.

“It’s definitely different,” Davis said. “I mean, with Golden State, you know how it is. The energy there was more relaxed. More free. It’s more fun. I would say here, it’s more serious. More attention to detail. Long film session, at least 30 minutes, maybe 40. Then walk-through. Then practice. So we’re in there for almost three hours, sometimes. Nellie was like an hour, hour-fifteen.”

George Karl is somewhere reading that and laughing.

If you could go to any NBA franchise, which team would be the most fun to play for?

I would go with the Lakers, definitely. They have history, they are in good shape now and they’ll be good in the future for sure. The Staples is great too, and LA environment must be awesome. But if I had the opportunity I wouldn’t be picky.

  2. Patrick says:

If you aren’t a sensitive little girl I would agree on the lakers. PJax seems like a crazy dude to play for. You can imagine all the bizarre crap that must come out the man’s mouth.

I think it probably won’t get any better than the Sacramento squad that had Chris Webber, Bibby, Divac and crew. That just really looked like a fun squad and atmosphere.

Now I would probably say Detroit. They seem to have fun and clown around between trash talk and seeing who can make ridiculous shots.

Lakers, knicks and heat a distant 3rd greatest ciy’s in the world, ur immediately famous on either team, just don’t start losing or the press will get in that azz..imagine suiting up every night and seeing magic in the hallway or running past clyde…Shytt driving up to the garden alone get my pants jumping

  5. Daily boy says:

For me it would me Miami, Great City Plus having D-Wade & B-Easy On The Team Your Bound For Some Pranks & Fun.

  6. RENO says:

    Knicks, Magic, Heat.

  7. dapro says:

Motor city when Big Ben was with the Pistons, you could tell they meshed off the court

Bulls and Lake show in their prime. Nothing is better than winning, coaches tend to take it easier when you’re winning

  8. JOROSS GONZALES says:

I would like to go to CSKA Moscow! IT’s Cool!!! Like Mr.T cool!

  9. F.L.A.S.H. says:

Lakers without a doubt, I mean fucking Coby Karl seems to be more well known around the world than all-star David West, so definitely the Lakers.

On a totally random note, the LA life is just too good, if ur someone like lamar or luke walton’s age u got the entire strip full of girls chasing u, if ur someone young like bynum or farmar, then University of Spoiled Children(USC) is just down the street for u to pick up some groupies

  10. dukesman2000 says:

The Knicks..Anything goes in that organization.

  11. spindlest says:

I’d really like to know what exactly is so weird about Chirs Kaman.

  12. TD says:

Really BD?!? three hours of work in a day is long… obviously he’s never had a real job.

  13. Jim says:

30 minute film session…that’s like 1/2 of a HS linebacker’s daily film session.

  14. marcus the great says:

Milwaukee Bucks, you can tell all the players love it there

  15. David Brandon says:

    @GEE,

thats whats up man! lol i’m thinking the same thing…back then, i’d have to say the local cats. it DID look like they were just having fun! they played their style, they won, the fans loved it. what more do you ask for? well, other than gettin robbed in the playoffs…lol

now?? man….i’d say new orleans. its a great city, the ppl support their team, byron’s your coach and the guys are young and love playing together. it works out for everyone. and the jerseys are fresh.

to me, the bottom line is winning. i can be bored as hell with the city, but win on the court. i’m fine with that. i’d rather be 62-20 and have no clubs to go to, then get vip everywhere and be 20-62…

  16. jimmhumm says:

@Jim heck yeah. Then we’d get yelled at for 45 minutes …
The best city to play in is Dallas their owner is outspoken but very supportive. THe players at one time had PS2 in each and every locker. The worst is Chicago. The last thing I want to do is compare my mortal soul to MJ every time I score.

  17. GEE...Up with hope, down with dope! says:

LOL at V.I.P. everywhere and be 20-62 lol. Flossin hard in the city to like it’s all to the good cause you losing.

New Orleans has a great fan base, but I don’t know if there is any crowd liver than Golden States. Those fans loose they rabbit A## minds.

Although if Vegas was to ever have a winnning team, I would think that would be the spot and the team that would just have fun on deck all the time.

  18. Kudabeen says:

Right now it’s probably Celtics, Sixers, Hornets, or Blazers. Celtics have a Chip, so it’s easier to laugh while working hard. The other teams are up and coming, so the pressure isn’t as crazy, but at the same time you have the talent to go out and compete every night with legit superstars that are all around good guys…

  19. David Brandon says:

man, oakland’s crazy…whenever i go down there, its always cool in the day…but at night man…hahahahaha! an dont even get me started on the raider fans! LOL they’re crazier than detroit fans yo.
    straight up.
and they’re with it!! they’re with it…. LOL!! i’m tellin you man…i’ve never heard soemone talk so crazy even they’re team gets mopped up every week. its wild. haha

and if vegas gets a team, it’ll be my kings. the new arena will be inside the palms. then i’ll move to vegas. lol!

  20. sxrs says:

    washington
arenas young and dominique mcguire joking around all the time. then you have stevenson who’s completely lost it, and jordan seems to be a nice coach to play for

  21. Tony says:

I would go to Houston just in case I get into a fight during a game I know I got someone (Artest) beating the crap out of the other guy.

    But Hornets work too…

  22. Lee says:

Which team has the best cheerleader !!!

Guessing LA, Dallas or Miami …

  23. Richard Wellner says:

I would go play for the Bucks.
