Bill Simmons Kills The Hawks Bench

Surfing the net while watching the Celtics/Cavs game, I came to the following conclusion: don’t expect Bill Simmons at any Atlanta Hawks games this season. In today’s Page 2 post, the Sports Guy just kills the Hawks’ bench.

Did you know that Atlanta’s bench this year consists of Ronald Murray, Zaza Pachulia, Mo Evans, Solomon Jones and Acie Law? Really? That’s your bench? The Hawks should just have Feces Night and have their cheerleaders shoot dog doo out of T-shirt cannons at their fans. What a disgrace.

   i like the hawks this season. look at the talent on the starting five bibby, johnson, smith, williams, horford. except for bibby they are all young. this is the best hawks team since they started collecting guys inbetween 6-5 and 6-9.

   I don’t understand the hate. Mo Evans is fine, and Acie Law is in his second year in the league. And didn’t Zaza used to start? It’s not the starting line-up, Bill. It’s the bench for a reason.

   I agree. While this surely isn’t the Celtics or Lakers bench, these guys are serviceable.

   There was some other preview that killed this bench. What about the Suns bench that supposedly is so weak that D’Antoni only played 7 guys for the last few years?

   I used to think that Simmons was a funny guy that had some clever insights. Now I think that he’s a sometimes funny guy…yea.

    ZaZa is a good role player, who did start before Horford arrived. As much as I like J. Chills, he couldn’t create his own shot. This helps in that JJ can take some time out, but we can still have some O. Besides, how often does a squad sit 5 and stick in 5 in one shot? Rarely. I think our bench got 1 man better. Oh,yeah……..Bill is a 5 dolla female trick

    While it looks really bad on paper, apparently they have looked great in practice and in the preseason. So we will see.

    about time someone shared the same views as i did. J Chillz is/was underrated. He could play from the 1-4 efficiently and every championship team had a high caliber player like him. Hawks needs to get rid of the coach and is wasting Jsmooth’s talents
