Celtics Waive Darius Miles
If you’re anywhere in the Portland metro area, you could’ve heard GM Kevin Pritchard’s scream of joy. While we thought that Sam Cassell’s desire to be an assistant coach this season would have opened up a roster spot for D-Miles, it appears the Celtics have gone in a different direction.
After missing the last two and a half seasons after microfracture surgery on his right knee, the 27-year-old and former No. 3 overall pick will have to find a new team for his comeback bid.
“Darius was a model citizen during his time here in Boston. He showed that he still has a lot of basketball left in him,” said Celtics executive director of basketball operations and general manager Danny Ainge.
As the only non-guaranteed contract of those in camp, Miles was the most likely to be cut over guys like rookies Bill Walker and JR Giddens. We doubt this is the last we hear from Miles.

i aint a hater but dmiles was never a great basketball player..he could run and jump and “potential” can only take you so far. he cant shoot and would not defend! he is not a great ball handler and at 27…the potential tag is fading fast and gone! waste of jb talent..glad jumpman signed cp3…a real player and one you can actually market..that being said…good luck..if you really want to play….go see the D league …dmiles!

for people who think miles is coming back, realize he is done. 4 months ago a doctor said he had a career ending injury. nobody has come back from one. Darius didnt have the work ethic to make it big as a lanky skilled high schooler, how is he going to have the work ethic to come back from a career ender. have you seen how fat he has become he could play a couple games for around 10 minutes, but he could not last a season, boston knows that and any other team that signs him will find out. plus gms wont fuck each other like that, its an unwritten law.
