Chris Bosh Dominates In Philly

After an impressive summer, Chris Bosh put on a show in Philly tonight. Scoring 27 points on 9-16 shooting from the floor and 9-10 from the stripe, CB4 also grabbed 11 boards and dropped four dimes in the W.

If he keeps it up, and Jermaine O’Neal can stay healthy, Bosh might not have to cover the NBA Finals any more…

I love the Raptors. Check it out. I was writing about Will Solomon a month ago:

Jermaine was great tonight – looked much better than in any of the pre-season games. Bosh and Jermaine seem to be on the same page already – playing off each other.

This was a great start for the raps. They really didn’t have much trouble with philly tonight.

  8. Don Mega says:

    hey E$ ,

the raptors are going to be much better than they ever could with TJ … TJ didn’t buy into the team mentality that Toronto is about .. . I (and 95% of raps fans) clapped when TJ was traded .

  9. Dagomar says:

Raptors have the best 1-2 punch at the 4 and the 5 in the East, no doubt about it.

Calderon is damn good as well. They’re weak at the 3 and the 2 – especially defensively – but I like the team this year, especially if either Bargnani or Joey Graham can fulfil half their potential.

  10. TO says:

    JO’s dunk “on” the dalembeast.
I use on lightly as it wasnt really “on” him.
    It was nice tho.
Kapono = deadly shooter. He got some nice looks. I hope Mitchell uses him more this year.
    Overall a pretty good game.
Roko Ukic – not too bad either

  11. K Dizzle says:

That game was for Brown and Doc gotta be pullin hair out cuz a dead dude coulda done more than Willie Green did for the 6ers tonight. Elton did have an off night too tho. That won’t happen too often, but Jo and CB4 are the truth..

  12. Don Mega says:

    real talk . 50 wins , baby .

  13. D.H. says:

Wow, sme great Raps praise on Dime. The Raps are the real deal and should have little trouble winning their division.

  14. QuEsT??? says:

this was funny, i had never seen that before

  15. maddskizzle says:

    In response to D.H.

The Raps are pretty good but are you forgetting a certain World Champion in their division? Still looking forward to CB4/JO and Calderon dethrone them but think they might need a few more pieces. BTW those black jerseys are pretty badass!

I’m afraid Joey Graham isn’t going to fulfill his potential. I played a few pickups against him in Vegas a few summers back, the guy is a legit beast, but he just hasn’t put it together in the league for some reason. He has all the athletic tools to succeed, but mentally he just doesn’t put it together.

Here’s to the Raps hitting up the Eastern Conf Finals!

    @Don Mega

Screw that man, I was singing praises and jumping for joy when they decided to get rid of TJ. I was ready to break out the champagne. It’s a classic case of addition by subtraction.

I still maintain that the Raps are 1-2 swingmen away from being legit. I don’t know if y’all realized this last night, but the ONLY two players that went to the hole were JO and Bosh. Their wing players are strictly jump shooters who don’t handle the ball all that well.

Luckily for them, JO and Bosh can draw double-teams down low and with good ball movement they can find open shots on the wings, but when the shot clock is running down, they look a little lost because they don’t have anyone who can attack the rim. They either throw it in down low or take a long contested jumper.

I’d hang on to Kapono and Parker, who are both good to start or come off the bench. Moon is ok, but I like him more as a defensive specialist type of player. Joey Graham is well, pretty much useless. He’s been in the league long enough now and it’s clear he’ll never be a rotation player on any team.

They don’t really have any assets to trade for an upgrade at the wing positions, besides Bargnani, but it wouldn’t make sense to trade him at this point, so they’re pretty much stuck rolling with this roster.

They’ll make it to the second round of the playoffs, maybe the Conference Finals if they draw decent matchups, but I see them progressing this year. They’re taking another step, but I still think there’s one more step before they’re actual contenders.

  19. Jayo says:

They need to trade for tyrus thomas (he got that raptor name) and nociono. The Raptors can give up Bargnani, Graham, Parker and a draft pick. Should work for both sides!

  20. Brown says:

    @Jayo

Get off the crack man. That’s a horrible trade for the Raptors. Nice armchair GM skills.

  21. Jayo says:

    @ Brown

    LOL! Just trying! Thanx man!
