Converse EB1

Converse EB1EB1

Elton Brand’s migration to the Philadelphia 76ers has changed the complexity of the Eastern Conference. Now the Sixers have a legit low post scorer and rebounder to compliment Andre Iguodala and another interior defender to help out The Dalembeast.

Sitting out all but thefinal 8 games due to a ruptured Achilles tendon Brand, now healthy and back home on the East Coast (Peekskill, NY native), is looking to start a new chapter in his basketball career.

Converse EB1EB1

Converse recently inked Elton to a shoe deal adding to the new chapter that Brand is about to start in Philly. Brand’s shoe the EB1 is the second signature shoe out of the Converse camp. The EB1 drops November 11th.

The shoe is designed for the versatile basketball player. Retailing for $65.00, the EB1 will be sold exclusively at JC Penney.

  2. it aint easy being green says:

jc penny huh. yea im good with those playa. who the fuck wears converse anyway, besides d.wade (who i think still coulda done better with his shoe deal)

  3. hmmmm says:

It looks like the Ben Wallace Starbury. I kinda liked that shoe. I kinda like this one too.

  4. rockstar says:

@ it anit easy bing green
Wade couln’t do better than converse as a rookie he signed with converse in a big group of up and coming players it was him Bosh Hinrich that headlined the group Then wade got sig shoes when he started pulling away from the pack as a better ball player.

    @ T-Dubbs,
    What’s wrong with JC Penney?

  6. control says:

Looks so cheap that even $65 is a rip for them. $40 and they’d be decent.

Ain’t got nothing on hyperdunks though (got my pairs two weeks ago).

  7. Big Shot BOB says:

Oh believe it…As far as the business aspect of it goes JC Penny is big. The biggest consumer is teenage kids and they don’t have they’re own money so they have to shop where they’re parents take them and JC Penny is definitely where I had to go school shopping…LOL Just like Master P putting his gear in Mervyns smartest marketing tactic ever. Or the Olsen twins with wallmart.

    What’s up with converse…?

They used to be a classy brand - actually they were the top brand when Magic and Bird were BOTH wearing them.

They need to get off this AND1 style kick and get back to making high quality, classic-style shoes. The leather and finish on the shoes magic and Bird wore was first class.

  9. srb says:

    I like ‘em.

  10. Homeless J says:

These look almost exactly the same as Wade’s shoe, except with an Elton Brand logo. Same front strap and black and white with red accented colorscheme and everything.

What’s wrong with JC Penny? Those commercials. Enough said.

  11. loganlight says:

…. better than when Steph dropped his line. These are better quality shoes than the Starbury line and kids will get to see them. Big Shot BOB is exactly right: I always had to cop my sneaks at Penney’s when I was young. They were always some generic Nike knock down too… they would look like the Sig shoe with less details. Rough.

BUT, for only $65 bucks I’ll probably go ahead and add them to my collection.

  12. Homeless J says:

Logan is going to go to JC Penny for his shoes and be completely bombarded and trampled over by trendy teenagers singing and dancing to DON’T YOU… FORGET ABOUT ME

  13. QuEsT??? says:

they look hot……but jcpenney??? lmfaoooooo wtf???

  14. T Dubbs says:

    @ Christian

Nothing is wrong with JC Penney, if you’re an LDS missionary. I’d rather get caught in “Bath N Body Works” loading up on fruit lotions and bubble bath.

  15. smity far away says:

i like these joints better than any of wade’s. might be the first pair of converse’s i rock since the “larry johnson’s”

  16. Mr. K1X says:

i have a pair and they actually decent.

converse has a buch of problems over there and wont be around in 3 seasons (fashion seasons, not NBA, lol)

the numbers are ok going to Penny’s but they needed to go athletic with these. They have deal with foot inc, Sports authority and Dicks and they put it in Penny’s !?!?!

like i said, they got lots of problems over there, haha

  17. bakedbeing says:

That’s some lifeless, watered down, cheap looking, design by committee shoes right there. If someone asks me tomorrow if I’ve seen Brand’s new shoes I probably won’t even remember.

  18. HeadKicker B says:

Actually, Nike bought Converse in 2003. Converse is still putting up quite respectable numbers thanks to the classic All-Stars. These shoes don’t thrill me but I bet are of better construction than Starburys (which are no longer being stocked at the Steve and Barry’s near me.)

  19. Bruce says:

one brand maybe an elite player but he is not a flashy player which means he isn’t marketable. converse did okay with this shoe it looks more like a nike 90 nike shoe to me. jc penney not really feeling that move though..

  20. D-boy says:

i got em. these kicks are comfortable, good arch support

sorry, but i aint dishing out $130 for some nikes
