Eddy Curry ‘Stunned’ That He Isn’t Starting

How is that possible? After hearing from a bunch of reporters that he won’t be in the starting lineup tonight, Eddy Curry admitted to being “stunned” by the news.
“Definitely stunned,” said Curry, “especially being that he didn’t tell me that. I haven’t talked to him. I’m here with him every day, all he has to do is tell me what’s up. So I’m definitely stunned to hear that from you guys, but we’ll see what happens.”
On one hand, it’s hard not to feel bad for Curry. He’s a very nice guy who seems like he’s genuinely hurt right now. But at the same time, this is the NBA. Even if Jerome James can just show up every day and collect a paycheck, Curry can’t just walk in the door and expect to start.
The truth is that he shouldn’t expect to get in the game. He could barely make it up and down the court during the preseason, and Mike D’Antoni was publicly critical of Curry’s physical shape. Maybe Curry doesn’t have TV’s in his house, because he disagrees with Mike on that one too.
When asked about his physical condition, Curry said that he thinks he’s “in pretty good shape.”
I’m sorry Eddy, but you could be the most delusional player in the League.

Actually the article says that he’s stunned that he’s not even in the 8 or 9 man rotation. Starting is not even an option.

Andrew Katz says:
Bondzai,
If you head over to Alan Hahn’s original report at Newsday, he uses the word “rotation” when he asks Curry if he’s stunned. But Hahn doesn’t specify whether he means starting rotation or guys-who-play rotation. The headline of Hahn’s piece clears things up though, as it’s titled “Knicks’ Curry Stunned He’s Not Starter.”

Is it me or in anyone else “stunned” that Coach Killa Curry thinks he’s owed anything. A team changes it philosophy for you and you give them, perhaps, your worse season ever…you’re under you fourth coach and the only one who defended you, you quit on…wait I take that back, you quit on every one of them except for one who wasn’t fooled by your potential…see out of the rotation.

He said he was “stunned” about how he got the news, not about the fact that he isn’t starting.

I don’t think anyone that reads this site is stunned by this…DIME, y’all need to send some e-mails to Curry’s people, get him litterate and able to accept reality. One day reading this, all the jokes we make, mfer will be svelte and sprinting for D’Antoni. Or hanging out at White Castle, killing Slider Eating Records.

The second that NY named D’Antoni coach, Eddy shoulda bought a treadmill for his house instead of the cotton candy maker. There’s no excuses for not being in shape when you’re an pro athlete. But if your coach is Mike Friggin D’Antoni, your just plain dumb for not being in shape.
