He just looked so awkward on the offensive end… Somebody said it earlier but maybe Sam Bowie 2.0 I still think they should have drafted Durant

Kudabeen says:
I know these types of injuries happen all the time, but I called it before. This guy is coming off of knee surgery. Over the last year he has had very little time pounding on his knee, ankles, feet…What does he do? He gains weight!! That is a no no. Gain muscle and strength…Yes that is great, but trainers can keep his weight down closer to 265-275. He went from a listed 265 to 285 in a year. I know those numbers aren’t always accurate, but you can see physically he is top heavy compared to where he was.
It is to his advantage when banging on the court, but he will not be on the court long as long as he keeps his weight this high so early into his return for surgery.

Kudabeen says:
He is going to rebound and defend at a high level, but foul a lot. If healthy he is 10rpg and 2.5blks easy. Offensively he is going to struggle with guys he can’t run through…

He looked like a doof! Barkley said it right “until he learns how to develop a shot, because all he does is dunk the ball, he’s going to struggle…
Will he be a bust? Well so far he is….!
It’s not like he went up against a elite player…last night….Bynum is servicable but not elite yet….
MAYO 4 ROY!

By just released, do you mean last night at 11:16? The X-ray results were in last night, it’s the MRI that we’re waiting on today.

Drink the Haterade (KB24 Chip 09) says:
@ 8 Are you Mother F**Kin Crazy? That would be disastrous. Kevin Pritchard knew just like the rest of us that Aldridge was the better of the two, that’s why he made the trade. Last time I checked he wasn’t John Paxson or Mchale.

Three Stacks says:
On the bright side, Oden had 2 blocks in 12 minutes, meaning he’s gonna average 6 blocks a game if he can play.
That was a pretty optimistic article, other sources were saying the x-ray was inconclusive. Gotta wait for the MRI to be sure about anything. If something’s wrong with his foot, and the x-ray didn’t catch it….high probability of a stress fracture.

You guys are ruthless. I think he’ll be fine. I think Andrew Bynum has a larger upside than Greg Oden, but Oden will be a fine player.

@12
2 blocks!? Where you getting that stat? Look at every stat line out there, they all have him with 1! 1 block. That’s all he had.
He looked his age last night, old as hell!
October 29th, 2008 at 6:24 pm
Three Stacks says:
Well, they had it as two blocks in last night’s box score, maybe they made a stat correction. Sorry for the misinformation.

specialguydurrrrr! says:
First to all the guys saying how old he is. How did you come up with that, it is hilarious! I never noticed it before but I guess he does look kind of old. In fact he kind of looks like Lebrons grandpa, hahahahahahahaha! Do you get it? Seriously all the people who were talking smack about how hyped Oden was even though he hadn’t played a game yet are now judging his entire career on one half of one game. It’s equally ridiculous. He has a sprained foot and I dare anyone else out there to tell me it couldn’t happen to anyone with Bynum draped all over your back and coming down awkwardly after going up for the third time in a triple team. Portland might be better off for this and GO might be better off too. There was too much hype and contrary to all of the CRAZY FUNNY jokes out there about him being old, he is, drum roll please…….20 years old. I know it’s totally unbelievable. But maybe starting in his first game ever was a little too much pressure. Did Bynum start his first game? How did Yao do his first game? Did Shaq struggle and foul out for like his first entire season? Or is perspective just a crazy idea. One last thing: for all the hype about Oden vs. Bynum how many people out their would say Bynum had an all-star caliber performance lastnight going up for the most part against the Blazers 2nd string center? I’m waiting….
