Jeremy Tyler Commits To Louisville

At one point the nation’s No. 1 overall recruit in the Class of 2010, Jeremy Tyler has decided to sign with Rick Pitino and the University of Louisville. The 6-9 junior big man from San Diego High School chose the Cardinals over other elite programs such as Memphis, UCLA, Duke, Kentucky, USC and Arizona.

After taking an unofficial visit to Louisville about six weeks ago, apparently Cardinals assistant Walter McCarty (a University of Kentucky grad) was instrumental in delivering Tyler to the Big East.

I saw him last year at the Big Apple Games in New York City and his game was ok but he had trouble against Benjamin Cardozo when they lost 71 to 49. He may be 6′9 but Cardozo big man stood only 6′6 and held him one on one as Cardozo plays one on one defense. I wish him good luck and hope he gets what he wants out of the school he chosen.

Duke wasn’t recruiting him , they need a center and offered Josh Smith from Washington ( he looks to like a UCLA lean right now )

Good on the kid. Going to a great program. Pitino is getting a better player from the West coast, Tyler will do better than Widney would have.
