Kevin Martin Won $1,000 For Dunking On Greg Oden
How much is it worth dunking on GO?I thought Kevin Martin was just a really soft-spoken dude who got buckets. But now I honestly have a totally different impression of this guy after one play.
It’s more than the fact that he put Rudy Fernandez on skates and then knifed through the lane for a two-handed banger on LaMarcus Aldridge and Greg Oden. It’s that he bet Mikki Moore $1,000 that he would be first to dunk on Oden’s head.
“I had to go get my money,” Martin said. “Them guys have 7-(foot)-5 wingspans, so even if you don’t think they are going to be there, they are going to be there. I’m glad they were there. I got a little richer today.”
In some ways, this helps to reinforce what everyone says about Martin - he’s a ridiculously competitive guy. I just didn’t realize that he had that type of mean streak.
I’d go ahead and guarantee that Oden hears about the bet. How can he retaliate? Instead of making Spencer Hawes look like a crash-test dummy, maybe he’ll seek out Moore when these two Northwest rivals face off. That, or we can expect some hard fouls the next time Martin tries to elevate over him.

It’s one thing to get dunked on but it’s another to have someone make money off of doing it on you. Wow.

when i saw this dunk, i had a little more hope in regards to the upcoming season for sac…but then i remembered that our team’s basically second and third unit players aaaaand…that ended that.

Only reason why Oden was late getting there was because he knew he was going to get dunked on regardless…the lateness just gave him a legit excuse. I like the dunk Rudy had in that game better though.
