LeBron learned “nothing” from Larry Brown
LBJ rode the bench in the 2004 OlympicsGreat little story I just came across:
When asked what he learned from former Olympic coach and current Bobcats coach Larry Brown, LeBron James replied, “Nothing.” That’s when he ended his interview. He ran off the court and let out a primal scream.
Wow. Following an 0-8 preseason, it appears the Bobcats haven’t learned anything either.
What 1,285 career victories under his belt, what would you learn from Coach Brown?

About the only thing you can learn from Larry Brown at this point in his career is how to act like Paris Hilton. Guy is the biggest drama queen in the league right now. He is like the AI of coaches…all about the personal stats at the expense of the team. Sometimes he will do some good on the team just to remind people he can, but when it comes down to it, it’s all about Larry.

Larry Brown DESTROYED the Knicks. He is an overrated coach that did his thing on the college level because NCAA ballers are usually too afraid to mouth off back to their coaches.
He didn’t play Larry Hughes…Hughes goes and kills it with Gilbert in GState…

As we see and will see in comments people don’t want any parts of that. Larry is seen in a foul light because if he isn’t feeling a situation he gets going…the Knicks were awful, Isiah was an cancer, so why would Larry suffer for that I don’t know.
He teaches the game and doesn’t massage egos. He probably should be in college…
I respect him, but I never understood his seeming distaste for young guys…LeBron and Wade has never had questionable effort, so his Olympic run is the biggest stain on his legacy to me…

The Akron-Beacon Journal heard it a little differently from the citation here. George Thomas, writing in the ABJ says that LBJ “jogged away while screaming playfully”, as opposed to “ran off the court and let out a primal scream” as above.

i’ve always felt the same about Larry Brown. All he does is blame players with that monotone, condescending bullshit manner of speaking in interviews. He’s a pretentious old man that thinks he has it all figured out and that no one can keep up with his “knowledge of the game”. He’s nothing more than a stubborn old man.
The turnaround of the Olympic squad is testament enough.

Only reason why LB won a chip is because the Shaq-Kobe beef was at its highest point that season. Malone was the only one holding the team together but he got injured. It was supposed to be a 4-peat but Kobe ratted on Shaq and blew everything up.
Before any KB fanatics bash me, I’m a Kobe fan, and yes I blame him for the 03-04 fiasco. I DON’T blame him for the Laker breakup, that was inevitable given KB’s growing ego goin up against Shaq’s already big one. You’ve seen the reports and the documents, Kobe pussied out on Shaq. Had he kept that shit to himself he would have had his freedom AND a 4th ring.
LB has a lot of wins, but that doesn’t mean he’s a good coach. Hell, Don Nelson has a lot of wins too and see where the Warriors are now
