No Hazing For Derrick Rose
No hazing… yetA couple weeks ago, I got up with J.R. Giddens to talk about how the Celtics haze their rookies. Apparently if he was starting, it would be a different story.
Would out of Chicago, a team renowned for hazing their rookies, is that the Bulls are giving No. 1 pick and starting point guard Derrick Rose a pass – for now. Before their first regular-season road trip Thursday, Rose admitted that his teammates really haven’t asked him to do anything yet.
“We can’t throw too much at him because he’s starting right now and playing a big role,” forward Drew Gooden said. “With some of those bottom-of-the-barrel rookies, you can kind of take more advantage of them.
“Derrick Rose, slowly but surely when he finds his role, we’ll have him doing some chores.”
Is Gooden inferring that Rose is going to play his way out of starting, or simply that as the star treatment fades, his teammates will be more inclined to clown him? Either way, I don’t see it happening. First-year coach Vinny Del Negro has clearly handed Rose the reigns to the team and the Bulls will fare accordingly.

i understand he is a rook but some rooks get the royal treatment…others dont…when you are the best on the team…it gets bypassed. i am sure cp3 got minimal hazing..only hazing he saw was on team usa…

The bulls roster is BUTT crumbs!! If Gooden says he aint getting hazed who on that roster has nuts enough to say other wise? Kirk Hinrich needs to be traded asap. The kid can run a team, and he will put the handcuffs on you defensively. He had a rough year last year but, I would take him on my team.
