Pick Up Jason Thompson Now
In 22 minutes off the bench, Sacramento Kings rookie Jason Thompson proved all the haters wrong. Scoring 18 points (on 7-11 shooting, 4-4 from the line) and grabbing 10 boards, JT was huge.
At 6-11, 250 pounds, the 22-year-old from Rider is about to become a household name. And don’t say we didn’t warn you. After killing teammate Spencer Hawes so bad he caused the 7-footer to punt a basketball 50 feet in the air, Thompson continued his impressive play.
Sure there was a slight setback when Andrew Bynum called the LAPD SWAT team on the young fella, but you can see why Thompson had something to prove tonight in his NBA debut.
Maybe I’m drinking the Kool-Aid, maybe I’m not. But if Thompson is going to put up numbers like this in only 22 minutes, expect bigger and better things as the season progresses.
How do you think Thompson and the Kings will do this season?

I like Hawes. I first met him when he was at the McD’s game. I know he hada good stat line, but Spence is a sophomore now and people know about him – and his desire to vote for McCain.

I love underdog stories…If I were him I would’ve stayed at home with the fam on draft night too. Then come out and have the best season debut of all the rookies so far. I hope he continues to do well, he seems like a nice kid.

Gay4Rudy says:
Aron where are the “haters”? Why is it that if people aren’t too high on a guy they are “haters” or “hating”?
Now you on the other hand… I do hate you!

The Fantasy Doctor says:
Aron is not the fantasy doctor, nor should he be telling anyone who to pick up. Just throwing that out there.

@Gay4Rudy
Now that’s just not nice. If you remember back to Draft Night, there was tons of haters coming out of Sac-Town because the majority of Kings fans had never heard of this kid.

JWq says:
Jason Thompson is going to be a career 20+,10+ guy. He used to play guard for many yrs in HS and even first yr in college until he grew to be 6’11″. His skill set is beyond many of those hyped rookies that got drafted higher or was on the news more. He has a college degree too so he has a good mind set going in unlike many high school or freshmans from college who is still a kid with millions. Look for JT to become an all star by the 3rd yr.

My team is pretty bad. Beno actually told me the other night that he wasn’t going to do that much until Brad gets back. I don’t like that guy.
