Rasheed Wallace and Kwame Brown Talk Smack in Practice

It hasn’t been any easy ride for Michael Jordan’s son, er, I mean Kwame Brown. After bouncing around three NBA franchises unsuccessfully, Brown landed in Detroit this summer with higher hopes. But even if he addresses a weakness along Detroit’s front lines, he’ll have to make it through practices against the toughest trash talker in the League before he can prove his merits in the game.
After dunking an ‘oop in practice the other day, Brown got an earful from Rasheed Wallace, screaming at him something like:
“That’s three baskets in three-and-a-half hours! Three baskets!”
Though Kwame could be crying on the inside, he’s not backing down.
Brown didn’t shrink away. The free-agent acquisition gave it right back to Wallace — just not as loudly.
When coach Michael Curry called the team together to end practice, the two players were smiling at each other and all was good.
“We were jawing all day at practice,” Brown said. “I told him he was in the trunk and I’m locking him up. Sometimes just because you’re the loudest, it don’t mean nothing.”
Sure, Kwame. Sure.

^^…right!:S
but nice post dime!
loll.. i think Kwame will eventually be a good role player. he is already a solid rebounder.. i think his biggest problem is his shaky hands and lack of confidence in what he can do or be able to do.
There were so many times when Kobe literally fed this guy the ball after attracting the whole defense, and Kwame would either fumble the pass, or make a stupid play.
Kid needs work.. and I think the Pistons are a perfect team to mold him into a decent player. he has got alot to learn from. I think the Spurs and Greg Pop could help him out too. But Phill Jax and the Lakers just were not into helping this Guy develope and he didnt have any other decent big man to learn from.. he played with Chris Mihm, brian Cook..guys like that.. he was always on teams with Big men that weren’t that much better than him.. all average at best.
Now.. lets see what he can become!

Kwame will benefit greatly from being around Rasheed(thats a first in itself) because he is learning from an extremely talented and skill big man who also has a hyperactive mean streak. kwame can learn to develop both…as well as practice catching the ball. also being with the pistons, he is almost guaranteed to be developed into a decent 5 (11, 9, and 2 hopefully)

If Kwame couldn’t learn from Michael Jordan, Kobe Bryant, Phil Jackson, or Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, then the future is looking pretty grim. Hopefully they won’t ask him to score, or catch the ball. He should defend and rebound for about 15 minutes a night and then sit the hell down.

i’ll never forget watching a Lakers game last season just before he got traded. the fans were booing him on every possession after what was maybe his 4th turnover in under 2 minutes. it got to the point where he was afraid of the ball. i almost felt sorry for him. almost. he got s nervous when they would pass him the ball he fumbled it twice. it hurt me to watch someone making that kind of money with such a great opportunity to do great things be so timid in what should be his comfort zone.

George W Kush Sr says:
Kwame’s not as bad as Olowokandi or Darko.
Rasheed and Detroit in general will be good for Kwame’s self confidence and development.
I see his ceiling as a player as a strong interior defender, decent rebounder, a couple blocks a game, 8-9 pts a game. So a decent defensive big man, thats not bad in a league filled with Amare, Dwight, Chandler, Brand, Boozer, Bosh, Shaq, Duncan, KG, Okur, Yao, Nene, KMart, Josh Smith, Curry, Randolph, Aldridge, and other PF and C’s who can drop 20 on ya if you dont have any big men on your team.
