Sarah Palin Lies About Her Hoops History
Palin is No. 22 with the high socks (Wonkette.com)If you didn’t already know, Barack Obama isn’t the only candidate who used to play ball. While attending Wasilla High School (Ala.), Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin helped her team to a girls’ state title in 1982.
Although she wasn’t one of the stars on her squad, Palin ended up starting at point guard and was a co-captain her senior year. Palin earned the nickname “Sarah Barracuda” owing to her tough defense on the court, but she’ll always be remembered because of her work at the charity stripe.
With 30 seconds left in the title game, Palin, nursing a bad ankle, hit the front end of a one-and-one but missed the second. It was her only point of the game, but it was enough, putting the Warriors up by five with just seconds to play. They won 58-53 and finished the season 26-5.
Interestingly enough, Palin’s biography omits the fact that she missed the back end of the one-and-one, claiming that she nailed the two free throws to win the game. While it’s no big deal and we’ve all inflated our stats before, is this someone you’d want running our country?

Doesn’t matter how she did it, she got winning results for the team. Every politician exaggerates/embellishes/lies, Biden, just like Hillary, lied about getting shot at during visits to hostile territories. The difference is that Hillary got thrashed by the media whereas Biden has virtually been given a free pass.
Plus, depending on upcoming court rulings, Obama might not even be eligible to run for POTUS if the court finds that he has indeed held multiple citizenship with foreign country(ies) (Kenya, Indonesia) as current evidence indicates. It would be a shitty way to lose an election, but the Constitution laid out POTUS eligibility requirements for a reason.

Lying about missing a free throw isn’t a good reason to not even risk having her become president of the USA (which she probably will, due to McCain being 90% dead already).
The reasons not to have her even close to being POTUS is because she’s a crazy bible beating, witchcraft hunting, tongues speaking, small town ruining, Katie Curic punching bag.
She’s fucking crazy, almost everything she has said or done has been proven to be a lie or just straight retarded. Hate to say it, but her new born son is more qualified to run the country than she is.

Yeah, I was wondering, after all their homoerotic stories about Obama playing basketball, when they were going to finally recognize that Sarah Palin was a state champ point guard. Only when they can bring up some silly inaccuracy in her bio (which likely was written by a publicist who may or may not even understand the game of basketball), they pounce like a pack of pathetic little liberal wolves.
I used to enjoy reading Smack everyday, but now you have too many worthless stories/features cluttering the website…and your unabashed man crush on Obama has gotten too nauseating for me.

Damn yall need to stop bitchin about this and JUST MAKE SURE YOU VOTE.
@ BKS and RANJER JOHN- what’s wrong with them posting that story? If a NEWSPAPER can endorse a candidate (which they all do) a BASKETBALL WEBSITE should sure as hell be able to do it without getting bitched at.
@ just RANGER JOHN- post # 9, are you suggesting that he will be assassinated? If so thats pretty fucked up, but you have the right to your opinion just like Dime and everyone else does, and if they were so biased and all this wouldn’t they delete your political rants that we deal with from time to time?

1. Under Obama’s plans, unless you make over $250K, it is not going to impact your life. If you make over $250K, I suspect we can afford the marginal 3%, introduced over time, in order to ensure that everybody in this country has the opportunity to succeed.
2. The most significant constitutional issue regarding one of the candidate’s eligibility is related to McCain.
See, e.g., http://blogs.wsj.com/law/2008/02/28/does-john-mccain-have-a-birthplace-problem. McCain was born in a military hospital in the Panama Canal Zone. Although the Senate passed a non-binding resolution that characterizes McCain as a natural-born citizen, absent a constitutional amendment or an authoritative decision by the Supreme Court, it remains an open question as to whether he meets the requirement. That said, the safe money says he does: at the time, the territory was under U.S. jurisdiction and, given the citizen-status of his parents, he might very well qualify regardless of the precise location of his birth. But, inasmuch as people raise these questions about Obama, it tends to be based on a combination of ill-intent or misinformation.

@ DOOG you have got to be kidding me, that is started by the same nutjob that started this one
http://news.justia.com/cases/featured/pennsylvania/paedce/2:2008cv04083/281573/
hell if anything mccain has MORE right then obama, he atleast has 2 us citizen parents.
and if you think you will not be effected by tax increases on the “rich” you are blind. tax increases on your boss and it WILL effect you. obama also is not telling you about the OTHER taxes he is proposing (such as an increase in fuel taxes)
@ ZACH
yes i am suggesting there is a real fucked up part of this country that would actually attempt to kill obama if he is elected (remember the guys in denver who got busted trying to set up to shoot him at the dnc a couple months ago?) there is a huge following of nutjobs who will not stand to see a black man as president (even though he is more white then they are IMO). there are nutjobs EVERYWHERE.
@ SHEP
come on man, politics is just another word for lie. what else has SHE lied about, and now as soon as you start that, start defending obamas lies as well, like how he NEVER heard a single surmin from HIS reverend talking shit about the usa, and white people, or how he never knew bill ayers who held a huge party at his personal house FOR OBAMA. there are lies everywhere, start to post them about one side and the other side will post them about your side too. it goes both ways. as someone said, it is all about WHO LIES BETTER.

Obama will not raise taxes on you unless you make over 200,000$ a year. Judging by the way some of you spell, I doubt you’re even close. Bill Maher said he’s cool with paying more, its pocket change to them, so middle class citizens shouldn’t give a shit and should stop listening to McCain. Yea, lets vote McCain so more of our tax dollars get thrown at a pointless war that our boys continue to die in, and thousand civilians continue to suffer for, yay. I am soo excited for another Republican to put our country down the shitter!

REALeyes, that is completely BULLSHIT do some research man, get off obamas website and do some research.
http://www.snopes.com/politics/palin/bannedbooks.asp
read the entire thing.
as for taxes being raised, if you believe your only taxes are you income tax, then you are not intouch with the real world. you pay taxes every day on everything. tarriffs on impors, fuel taxes, food, that shirt your wearing (unless you made it yourself) hell look at beer, that tax will go up, its called a “luxury tax”. when your employer has to pay more taxes on your payroll (assuming you have a job) income tax is the only tax obama ever speaks of, he doesnt tell you about all the other taxes he has already lobied to raise (like the fuel tax)
think about this for a second, when obama 1st proposed his tax plans, he had the tax increases going to those who make 5 million or more, then the “rich” number dropped to 1 million, then it dropped to 500k, now the “rich number” is 250k combined. how much lower is it going to go?

Well, technically, this article is still about hoops. It’s not like they got a random Palin story from CNN and posted it here to ‘inform America’s youth’. It’s involves missing a free throw, and last time I check, free throws are part of basketball.

glad to see we’re all invested in this political process. in my opinion, an honest politician is an oxymoron. one must pick the lesser of two evils. do your research and go with the one who stands most for what you believe in. i can get with mccain on some of his points as i can with obama. at the end of the day, the person who’s views & plans line up most with what i hold dear will be the one i vote for. here’s to an historic election!

Tax Attorney says:
I’ve been engaged in taxes for lengthier then I care to admit, both on the individualized side (all my working life!!) and from a legal standpoint since satisfying the bar and pursuing tax law. I’ve supplied a lot of advice and righted a lot of wrongs, and I must say that what you’ve posted makes complete sense. Please continue the good work – the more individuals know the better they’ll be equipped to cope with the tax man, and that’s what it’s all about.
