The Mavs Get Killed by Young Point Guards
The last time the Mavericks were on the floor when games actually counted, Avery Johnson was watching his job slip through the cracks as Chris Paul was running right through Jason Kidd. A couple of months later, Rick Carlisle now has the pleasure of watching the Mavs get diced by a young point guard. This time around it was Derrick Rose, who could very well have the quickest first step since Tim Hardaway. He’s almost too fast for a big man to hedge.

Paxson needs to take care of that logjam over there so Rose is assured minutes.

I preached that Rose was the truth all summer long
We made the right pick in Chi-town. There was no clear cut #1 but we addressed a serious need by getting someone who can get easy interior buckets
Still an 82 game season but I like what I’m seeing so far

I know he is quick but the ease in his change of speed when changing direction is amazing.

Kid can play, they just need to trade ‘my ball’ Gordon to be relevant again. But Gordon sure could sink those clutch buckets in crunch time… Hmmm… Paradox!

I’m w/ Damon. Hardaway? Try A.I. or K.J. D Rose is THAT quick and he IS too fast for a big man to come out unless they play way off of him. If he stays healthy, he’s in the running for ROY no doubt.

Drink the Haterade (KB24 Chip 09) says:
The one play I remember A.I. doing his crossover was when he was being guarded by MJ and AI crossed him up left MJ flailing to the left as he went right and stuck the jumper. I think AI was a rook and it was 96

Hey Austin, maybe you should do put up a head-to-head matchup of AI vs Hardaway, see who has the better crossover.

Looking good. I think they’ve got the beginning of something solid over there in Chicago. I really like the following rotation:
PG – Derrick Rose
SG – Larry Hughes
SF – Luol Deng
PF – Drew Gooden
C – Joakim Noah
—-
G – Kirk Hinrich, Ben Gordon
F – Andres Nocioni, Thabo
C – Tyrus Thomas (I know he’s thin, but…), Aaron Gray
