The NBA Debut of Derrick Rose

Derrick RoseWelcome to the Big Show

Welcome to the Derrick Rose era in Chicago. At halftime, Rose has three points, three boards, five dimes and a swipe – along with two turnovers and two fouls. His nicest play of the first half was an alley-oop to Tyrus Thomas off a steal.

Getting the start over Kirk Hinrich, it appears the Bulls are ready to hand Rose the fate of the franchise.

Hinrich on the other hand looks like a different player at the two-guard spot – relocating around the perimeter and shooting triples a la Kyle Korver or Mike Miller.

In case you can’t see the game, check out the Derrick Rose preseason mix below.

    The Bucks announcers just compared Rose to a right-handed Kenny Anderson after Rose weaved through Milwaukee all the way down the court for an and-one. Sick.

  2. that's whats up says:

    Hinrich is a nice point guard, but he is a nicer two guard.
    This shit is gonna work out nicely for the Bulls (once they dump Gordon’s dumb-ass, selfish-ass ass)

  5. E$ says:

    why did the NBA do this game tonight?

  6. dagwaller says:

    I’ve liked Hinrich for years, but after seeing Rose play a bit in the preseason, I knew that they had to find room for both guys on the court. I don’t care how they do it.

    PS amanalone, good call.

    @QuEsT???
    With 3 minutes left in the game, the Bulls are up 106-91.

    Rose has 9 points, 3 boards, 9 dimes and 3 steals along with four turnovers. Not bad, not bad at all.

  9. Aron says:

    @QuEsT???
    No, Webster is injured. Check TNT to see those guys.

  10. QuEsT??? says:

    yea my bad, got those two confused lol

  11. nick says:

    nice rose looking solid in his first game. glad i took a chance on him in the fantasy draft.

  12. Kobeef says:

    Ok Rose is nice but when did Tyrus Thomas become a hard working PF with a solid mid-range jumper?

    Rose is the team leader but if Tyrus plays like this all year the Bulls are going to be tough to beat.

  13. dagwaller says:

    Good call, Kobeef. The Bulls have lacked a quality big man since…Elton Brand? Jeez it’s been a long time.

    To this day, I’m confused as to why they took Rose (who I admitted to like earlier) over Beasley. Chicago already had a few decent-to-good guards. Maybe they figured Ty Thomas was going to play really well all season long?

  14. Jay says:

    DRose is nice but he isn’t gonna be any kind of star in this league until he gets a consistent J
