Trust Him, He’s a Doctor
I’m not sure what to make of the Julius Erving/Dr. Pepper commercial posted this morning on one of my favorite Philly sports blogs, The700Level.com. It’s good to see Doc, but then there’s the painfully fake Dr. J behind-the-backboard highlight, or the decision to use music that will forever be associated with MJ-era Bulls teams, and the fact that it’s kind of a terrible spot in general.
Does it really matter though? To quote one of the commenters on The700Level’s post, “If Dr. J did that commercial for poison, I’d still drink it.”

Is the highlight fake? How can you tell?

the highlight is obviously fake… but I have to disagree. I thought it was hilarious.

Took him a long enough time to add a J to his game…
JK… Love Doc, don’t know about drinking poison…
I don’t buy things or trust anything coming from a Black man without facial hair…Once you have it you can’t cut it off, there should be a law…

Anyone else notice at the very end from the bulls music you can hear an announcer say the letters MJ. I wonder if they jacked the music straight from a Bulls broadcast. lol
