Warriors Will Start Undrafted Rookie
The writing’s been on the wall for the last two weeks and now it’s official: undrafted rookie DeMarcus Nelson will be Don Nelson’s starting point guard tonight when the Warriors season tips off against the Hornets.
Two things:
1. Marcus Williams should be ashamed of himself. He had basically no competition for that starting spot and he didn’t do enough to win the job over an undrafted rookie who isn’t even a point guard.
2. DeMarcus’ first test is to deal with Chris Paul in front of home Golden State fans who all feel ripped off because of the Baron/Brand/Josh Smith free agent mess of the summer?? It’s almost unfair to do to the rook.
