We Reminisce: Michael Jordan’s career-high 69 points
Of all the possible candidates — and there are several, to say the least — is this the best game MJ ever played? March 28, 1990, in Cleveland, Mike stamped 69 points (23-for-37 FG’s, 21-for-23 FT’s), 18 rebounds, six assists and four steals on Mark Price, Brad Daugherty, Larry Nance and his old friend Craig Ehlo. Jordan went on to average 33.6 points, 6.9 boards, 6.3 assists and 2.8 steals that season, taking the Bulls to the Eastern Conference Finals (where they lost to Detroit) and finishing 3rd in MVP voting.

Magic Johnson (MVP): 22.3 points, 11.5 assists, 6.9 rebounds, 1.7 steals, Lakers won 63 games.
Charles Barkley (2nd): 25.2 points, 11.5 rebounds, 3.9 assists, 1.9 steals, Sixers won 53 games.
P.S. — Barkley actually got more first-place votes than Magic.
Jordan led the Bulls to 55 wins that year.

I love how they played the Bill Cartwright free throw in slow motion.

he still managed 18 boards and 6 assist and 4 steals. That’s what made MJ special as a guard he didn’t limit his effectiveness on the game like many guards in todays game do. You have to let guys roam and get in where their mates aren’t able to. I remember Paul Pierce two seasons ago was averaging something crazy like 13+ boards a game, because they didn’t have bigs on that horrid squad. That’s a true ball player. You plug the different holes…
That is some video game type stuff…

Man, was that a Craig Hodges and a Bill Wennington siting? Not to mention Steve Kerr checking in for the Cavaliers. I hate watching old games, where Cleveland is at the shh end of a remarkable performance. Jordan played great, but if the Cavs didn’t have so many turnovers in the 3rd, it should of gone the other way. So many what-ifs involving games and series against the GOAT.
Anyone else thinks that after a couple scotches, Mike calls up Ehlo jsut to let Craig know that Mike still, to this day, owns him?

I can’t see the clip but I vividly remember that game.If the Bulls had won the ‘Chip that year, I dont think MJ would have been that great of a player. After losing to Detroit, he went straight bonkers.
Hey Dime, Did y’all do a “We Reminisce” when Michael gave the Knicks “Double Nickle?”

they shoulda kept Ronnie Harper. He and Jordan had some epic 1-on-1 battles, which MJ won most of, but at least Harp expelled some of MJ’s energy playin D on him.
Props to MJ though…I truly believe he coulda dropped 80+ on the Cavs if he wanted to.

i’ve heard about this game, but was only 6 when it happened and i never got to see in-depth highlights
all i gotta say is… WOW
all the ‘next jordans’: hill… vince… kobe… dwayne… lebron… man, i don’t see a player being this great ever… the things the stars of today surprise us with was his norm, and not just the stats, but just the way he took over every game…
the commentator said it right… “the bulls have to make sure not to get too mesmerized with jordan…” that must be difficult, because no one alive could NOT get mesmerized with that performance… i bet even jordan felt a little mesmerized by himself. a little.
WOW.

nobody will ever be better than jordan. but that’s only in the mind. the defense was pretty weak in this game. kobe with a green card from phil will score a hundred and seven. people need to understand that defense in the nba has gotten way more sophisticated. not street like the detroit bad boys but smarter overall. but hands down the one thing that makes people think of jordan when they see kobe is the “on-fire” or “in the zone” or whatever you wanna call it. next to winning, it’s my favorite part of basketball.
