(Almost) Daily Fantasy
Another night, another sprained ankle. Leave your fantasy trade offers/pick ups/cuts/ and any other roster help you need in the comments section.
Ron Artest – Another sprained ankle. If anyone is going to tough it out, it’s Ron-Ron right? Maybe. Artest has had legit injury concerns in the past and has been known to miss games for other reasons than being suspended. We’ll let you know when we know more.
Luis Scola – Scola was 10 for 20 from the field last night and of an animal on both ends of the court. The year long numbers are pretty good actually (12 and 7) but it’s still a little bit inconsistent for my liking. One heads up – Yao left the game with a foot injury. He said he could have returned but it was the same foot that caused him to miss all of last year. If Yao was going to miss significant time, Scola would be a solid pick up.
Antonio McDyess – While the odds of McDyess returning to Detroit are still very high, Pat Riley did acknowledge that he reached out to McDyess’ agent. If McDyess landed with the Heat he could end up being a decent pick up as Miami is desperate for some interior defense.
Shane Battier – Shane to the rescue? Not really, but Battier is about to start practicing again and is close to getting back in the Rockets lineup. With all these injuries Battier will play right away, but other than a decent source of threes, Battier is a much better basketball player than fantasy player. He’s a nice pick up if you’re in a very deep league (definitely 16 teams).
T-Mac – “Shutdown” and “T-Mac” go together like peanut butter and jelly. McGrady is going to shut it down to rest his knee which feels like he “never had surgery on it”. Even when playing 30+ minutes this season McGrady has been relying way to much on his jumper and doesn’t seem to be able to turn the corner like he used to. I really hope we aren’t in the middle of a Penny Hardaway like drop off. Don’t cut him, but get him on the bench.
Michael Redd – Doubtful for tonight… And tomorrow night. Ugh.
Luc Richard Mbah a Moute – Charlie Villanueva is out at least two games this week. Moute is going to have very very very nice value.
Leon Powe – If you are in a daily league (and daily league only), grab Powe and start him tonight. Powe was Mr. Double-Double when KG was sidelined last year. He could have a very nice night against the Knicks with KG suspended.
Michael Finley/Roger Mason – Both Spurs are playing well right now. I’d go with Mason Jr. first and think he’ll have the longer term value, but Mason is a very good short term solution and Finley is a decent short termer.

Chill says:
Doc,
Who’s a better pickup right now? Earl Watson or CJ Miles? I play in a 14 team league so most of the nice pickups are gone. I was thinking Watson cause he gets Assts but I hate the fact that he splits time with Westbrook. CJ Miles is a nice pickup but he just gets points and good percentages. Watson or Miles?

Smackdown says:
Doc, Would you drop Russell Westbrook for Rafer Alston? I like Westbrook’s upside, but Skip to My Lou usually goes off once the injuries begin to pile up in Houston.
Thanks!

Mooks says:
Matt Barnes is a free agent in my league. Do I drop Anthony Morrow to grab him, or do I wait to see what Morrow does tonight and risk another owner grabbing Barnes?
November 18th, 2008 at 11:32 am
The Fantasy Doctor says:
Help me – Wow. Big offer. How’s your back up to Chandler?
Chill – Watson for the longterm.
Mikey B says – You want Melo and Rose.
Smackdown – I’d rather Rafer for the second. that’s definitely subject to change.
Mooks – Barnes.

McFly says:
Hey Doc,
Just made a trade in my keeper league.

redpin says:
any trade suggestions to get rid of john salmons?? i need 3s , fg % , less turnovers.
November 18th, 2008 at 1:03 pm
The Fantasy Doctor says:
N T – Can I have option C please? right now I’d rather Bargnani, but I don’t want you to cut Villanueva.
Help me – Ahhhh. thought you were getting CP. It doesn’t sound like you need Chandler and you’d rather own Paul than Williams. CP is absurd.
McFly – You paid a lot. A whole lot. depends on the rest of your roster and how many keepers you get.
November 18th, 2008 at 12:34 pm e
redpin – drop amir yes. Of those guys i’d grab Varejao.
redpin – Can’t just make blind trade suggestions without seeing the rest of the league!

I’ve held on to Randy Foye but he’s been killing me. I’m tempted to get rid of him. Should I?
November 18th, 2008 at 1:27 pm
isotope says:
…and pick up Larry Hughes?
November 18th, 2008 at 2:53 pm
McFly says:
I figured Id trade those guys cause I’m in first and my whole team is killing it right now. I’m stacked. I’m dominating in rebounds and blocks but I’m dead last in steals and assists.
It’s a 12 team roto keeper where you can keep 3. and now I can keep dwight, rose and now chris paul.
ha just trying to reason with the trade.
November 18th, 2008 at 4:06 pm
The Fantasy Doctor says:
isotope – no
McFly – if it ain’t broke…
November 18th, 2008 at 4:21 pm
Stu says:
Should I trade Vince Carter and TJ Ford for Amare??
November 18th, 2008 at 4:23 pm
G says:
Doc,
What’s your opinion on Lamar Odom, he has been less than productive fantasy wise off the bench I’m tempted to drop him for a guy like Udonis Haslem.

NT says:
“N T – Can I have option C please? right now I’d rather Bargnani, but I don’t want you to cut Villanueva”
the rest of my team is solid and i can’t really cut anyone else. i have
jose calderon
kevin martin
nate robinson
monta ellis
manu ginobili
caron butler
nene
bynum
lamarcus aldridge
amare stoudemire
drew gooden
spencer hawes
charlie Villanueva (he’s the only one that doesn’t give me much steals or blocks)
in terms of best player value, who would you say the two least players on my team are? I would like to get marbury or tinsley to help with assists later on.

Someone offered me: Ron Artest and Titties Gibson for Devin Harris.
