(Almost) Daily Fantasy

The KnicksThe Knicks give owners a night!

No offense to Dwight Howard’s absurd line (32, 21, and 4) but the MVP for last night goes to Mike D’Antoni. The man is just the anti-Don Nelson. He creates fantasy players. Check out Mike D. did last night…

David Lee – David Lee went truly bananas last night. Lee went for 37 points, 21 boards, 3 steals and a block. He even threw some kind of gross alley oop to himself on a breakaway. Considering I would have suited up for the Knicks if 10 day contracts had started, take this with a little bit of a grain of salt. It is an awesome day to trade high on Lee.

Chris Duhon – 22 assists! It helps when everyone is hitting their shots but this is clearly going to be a career fantasy year for Duhon who is still better suited as being the League’s best back up point guard.

Al Harrington – Al torched his former squad and had it all going on last night. Harrington has 36 points, including 5 threes, and 12 boards. He’s going to light up the threes and points categories the rest of the year, but he’s going to have some awful shooting nights on occasion.

Tim Thomas – We mentioned the other day that the buzz around the Knicks is that D’Antoni loves Tim Thomas from his Phoenix days. Thomas had 15 and 9 last night and remains an intriguing pick up.

Stephon Marbury –
Donnie Walsh has said that the situation ends on tomorrow. Now is the time to grab Steph. Miami still seems like the best place for his fantasy value which would obviously hurt Mario Chalmers up and down value.

Don Nelson – Seriously, Nellie is out of his mind. After a gazillion DNP-CD, Nelson started Marco Belinelli, over Anthony Morrow and CJ Watson for the injured Stephen Jackson. He then played Belinelli 8 minutes and CJ Watson had his best game of the season. Awesome.

Michael Redd – Welcome back. Finally. Redd dropped 20 in his return and should be safe to have in all lineups next week.

Luke Ridnour/Ramon Sessions – Sessions and Rid are actually both playing well, but with Redd back in the fold, the platoon is back on. Both Sessions and Rid put up numbers last night and surprisingly Sessions received more minutes. Too close to call right now on who to commit to (if anyone).

Charlie Villanueva – Chuck V. gets hurt, plays hurt, starts, plays only 18 minutes (6 and 8) and continues to make fantasy owners nutty. Good summary?

Chris Kaman/Marcus Camby – Kaman will be out approximately two weeks and the Clippers will get a good look at what they’d like their lineup to actually look like. Camby, Zach, and Thorton’s value will be very solid while Kaman is out. Camby did leave last nights game with an injury, but was able to return.

JJ Reddick/Anthony Johnson –
Introducing your new backcourt for the Orlando Magic, Anthony Johnson and JJ Reddick. With Pietrus out for over a month, Reddick gets his first big shot at fantasy value. Last night he had a whopping 4 points. If you’re in a roto league he may be a good source of threes. Johnson is still the better short term pick up.

Josh Howard/Jason Terry –
Terry continues his turn back the clock season and even when Josh Howard returns Terry has proven he’s back to being a legit fantasy starter. Terry dropped 24 last night as Howard missed another game. It’s very questionable if Howard will be good to go this week.

Deron Williams – Great news that Williams got the back to back go ahead. His minutes were limited, but he still had 13 assists. He’s on an absurd assist rate right now.

Andrei Kirilenko/Paul Millsap – Don’t cut Millsap yet. Even with Boozer on the cusp on returning, AK47 turned his ankle last night. Check back tomorrow for lineup advice. Millsap went for 20 and 10 last night.

Russell Westbrook – The new look Thunder gave Russell Westbrook the keys last night. Westbrook started, played 38 minutes and is officially learning to be an NBA point guard on the job. He’s going to have some awful nights and great nights. He’s going to be a turnover machine. Last night he went for 12 points, 6 boards, 4 dimes and 2 steals. He should definitely be owned, but I’m not a big believer in his consistency this season.

Kevin Love – The Wolves have been very cautious all season with Kev Love’s minutes. He’s consistently shown potential in limited action but had his best game of the season last night with 18 points and 12 boards in 29 minutes. The situation definitely needs to be watched.

Sean May - Larry Brown must be really desperate. May once again got the start at power forward for the Bobcats. Brown should be crushing May’s confidence any day telling the world how out of shape he’s in. That seems to be the cycle. Still at some point again, May will have value.

I don’t think the Heat are as interested in Steph as you think

It’s not that I think they are THAT interested, but it’s the best team for Steph’s fantasy value that is a possibility. There are a ton of places he walks into a back up situation. In Miami he has a chance at playing 30 plus.

I was at Penn station last night, not at the game, but it seemed like knick fans didnt know what winning felt like. They just walked around with hardened hearts who wished they could still cheer “Fire Isiah”.
