Allen Iverson’s Pistons Debut
When Allen Iverson, Rodney Stuckey and Rip Hamilton were all on the floor at the same time, the Nets’ backcourt looked mortified trying to deal with those three guards swarming like gnats. These three actually might have been most impressive defensively in the first half, as they challenged every ball handler in the backcourt and every rebound, poking possessions loose and turning a six point game to a sixteen point game in a matter of minutes.
But that’s not to say that Iverson didn’t look good on offense. He rattled off seven straight points for Detroit during one clip. And with Stuckey playing point, both AI and Rip were running off of down screens on opposite sides. ‘Sheed opened up on the block to receive a pass after screening – and there were three legitimate options for Stuckey.
The addition of AI makes the simple motion offense look terrifying.

That first part sounds like it’s talking about offense, so why the ‘but…’? just curious

at 6:03 left in the third iverson has already taken 12 freethrows, whilst rip has taken 14 shots, im not watching the game so i cant tell but is there some sort of power struggle going on to determine who is the top dog?
do you forsee that to be a problem? because up until now this team (offensively at least) has unquestionably been rips team

I’d hate to be a spurs fan right about now with tp rolling his ankle and leaving the game. I’m a huge suns fan and hate the spurs more than anything but I feel for yall this one time Timmy can ball but not by himself I’m out like the spurs having a healthy roster peace!

What’s terrifying is that the lowly, rebuilding Nets are up in the 4th qtr.

At one point, I think the Nets were fielding the WORSE lineup ever in an NBA game: Lopez, Yi, Simmons, Dooling and Ager.
The Detroit announcers can’t seem to tell the difference between Jarvis Hayes and Vince Carter either.

well im a spurs fan and the worst case scenario is getting a 7-8th seed getting kicked out in the 1st round i rather miss the playoffs and be back next season with a lottery pick and a HEALTHY manu timmeh and parker.

@ Ian Oh I know I recall our squabbles during the hack a shack debate in the summer. One thing is for sure the playoffs without another suns-spurs match up doesn’t really appeal to me nearly as much it would take away all satisfaction if they actually get over the hump this year and win a championsip it wouldn’t be that much of an accomplishment in my eyes if they didn’t run through the spurs first. But it’s steal pretty early in the season to be speculating, the spurs are too well disciplined to not be solid come playoffs even if they were 7th or 8th seeded the team is battle tested, and if everyones healthy be scared. Roger Mason is by far the sleeper pick up of the summer

lol i know what u mean
its like the 03 championship for us if we woulda won without beating the lakers it doesnt feel as good. i guess spurs are to the suns what the lakers were to the spurs during the three peat.
but remember this hate is kinda a one way team since the spurs beat the suns all the time we dont hate the suns me personally wouldnt mind seeing nash get a ring if the spurs dont make the playoffs but i hate amare and FUCKING SHAQ who doesnt shut the fuck up so im kinda torn on this one.
i know what u mean the spurs will be good on any seeding what im worried about is they getting an 8th seed without one of their stars if the team is full power i dont care of the seeding but the way this is going i think duncan will get injured next week.
btw the hack a shaq is legal my man
