(Almost) Daily Fantasy
Elton Brand (Photo. Kelly Turso)Even with only two games on last night’s schedule there is plenty to talk about.
Thad Young – Not only has Thaddeus Young has now scored in double digits in every game this season, but he’s also shooting great percentages and averaging more thantwo threes per game. We liked him in our pre-draft rankings but the consistent threes are a tremendous bonus.
Elton Brand – Again, I don’t care that Brand only scored 6 points. He’ll get his and he also added 12 boards. What bothers me is another game with zero blocks.
Travis Outlaw – So far so good with Outlaw. He’s the type of 4th to 5th forward that just expect the numbers to all of a sudden to disappear, but once again the stats are there. Out had 14 and 13 last night and played 34 minutes.
Rafer Alston – This was actually Skip’s best game of the season fantasy wise. 10 points, 4 dimes, 2 threes. Scary stat of the day – Rafer 25 minutes/Aaron Brooks 27 minutes. Watch Brooks (14, 2, and 2) very closely.
Rudy Fernandez – We liked Rudy on the crowded Blazers because we thought he’d find a way to put up some type of meaningful stat every night. Last night it was 15 points and three treys.
Corey Maggette – Corey Maggette will miss Friday’s game with a hamstring injury. It doesn’t get much coverage in preseason rankings but Maggette has never played more than 77 games and that was in his rookie year in 1999. He’s a proven scorer and is one of the best at getting to the line but his body can’t keep up with his game. Kelenna Azubuike will pick up the slack.
Brandon Wright – Don Nelson publicly declared his displeasure with Al Harrington yesterday and verbally committed to giving Brandon Wright more time as he tries to unload Harrington. Raise your hand if you trust Don Nelson? Right. Still Wright is a very intriguing pick up.
Ed. Note – The Fantasy Doc is out today, but we’ll do our best to answer your questions if you got ‘em.

Smallest of corrections, but Rudy scored three 3 pointers last night, not two.

Doc,
Should I bench Redd tonight or keep him in the lineup?

Fantasy Doc missed out on giving Telfair some ink so I’ll just throw it out there:
Foye is going down fast, and although he had his first halfway decent game of the season, Telfair came in and dropped 10 ast and only 1 to in his first game back. Foye should start worriying and Fantasy managers should take notice.

Quick question, which two of three would you rather have:
Q. Richardson
Boris Diaw
Paul Millsap
Looking to round out my roster, I have Q and Diaw, but am thinking of picking up Millsap.
Our stat categories are different, we got:
MIN, FGM, FTM, 3PTM, OREB, DREB, AST, ST, BLK, PF, TECH
so no %’s categories, just straight production.

@dangertronix
Deron is calling himself a game-time decision. The Jazz, however, are leaning towards resting him a game longer.

Fellas,
Tough day at the office.quick notes –
I wouldn’t be in a rush to grab Q. Telfair even I’m curious about be not running to the wire.
The biggest question mark with any move that goes down in Nellie town is what will happen to Brandon Wright. Grabbing him to find out is not a horrible idea.
