(Almost) Daily Fantasy

Kirk HinrichThat didn’t last long.

Kirk Hinrich – The same day that Hinrich re-entered the Bulls starting lineup was the same day he torn ligaments in his thumb that will keep him out for three months. Ben Gordon and Derek Rose’s stats should flourish and maybe even Thabo Sefolosha, has a shot at a little bit of value as well. It was the Gordon and Rose show last night. Gordon had 29 and Rose had 17 points, 9 dimes and 5 boards. Thabo had zero points in 16 minutes.

Andres Nocioni –
Andres Nocioni is always one of my favorite players and with Drew Gooden sitting with an ankle injury the Argentinean found his way to a solid 38 minutes, 16 points and 5 boards. All it takes for Nocioni to have value is minutes, so pay attention. We will.

Ramon Sessions/Luke Ridnour
– Luke continues to start but Sessions continues to get plenty of minutes and both of them are producing. Last night, Sessions had 23 and 6 assists, though he was 6-15 from the field (he was 10-14 from the line). Rid was 3-12 from the field for only 6 points but he did have 7 assists. Skiles will have to make a call on who gets the minutes when Redd comes back. Very good chance it will be Sessions.

Charlie/Villanueva/Luc Mbah a Moute – Charlie Villanueva had a goose egg last night. Zero points, 3 turnovers, and 3 boards. That isn’t the worst of the numbers though. He only played 10 minutes. Moute came in and had 14 and 7 in 35 minutes. I don’t trust either of them (I’ve never trusted Villanueva) but really, the two shouldn’t even be in the same category. Moute just might be more of a Skiles type player. Don’t cut Villanueva.

Brad Miller – First weed and now a foot injury. Miller is day to day. Obviously Spencer Hawes is a must own and Jason Thompson is the team question mark.

Rudy Fernandez – Rudy was questionable last night but not only played, but got in his normal 30 minutes. As always, he found a way to contribute to the fantasy squad going for 3 threes, 4 boards, and 2 dimes.

Jeff Foster – How badly do you need a center for next week? How badly do you need boards? Deep, deep leagues should consider Jeff Foster until Rasho gets back. The 12 points last night is sort of an aberration but the 13 boards is real.

Michael Redd – Those hoping to get a end of the week return from Michael Redd were disappointed last night. Redd was on the bench in street clothes. Stay tuned on his availability for next week.

    Beno’s available too

  4. Nimit says:

    Hey doc,

Al Hodford is really disappointing me right now. Should i look to trade him for someone like Aldridge? or should i wait it out?…i really expected him to be somewhere around 15pts/12rebs/2blk this season.

  5. srb says:

Just read a headline that said, “If the Bulls don’t want to thin out their backcourt, the basketball Gods will take care of it.” Ha.

  9. s.bucketz says:

Sans – I’m trying. It’s called the (Almost) Daily Fantasy for a reason though. Definitely Azuibike.

Nimit – It’s just not that easy to make that deal. It’ll get better too. Never good to trade low.

    s.bucketz – I trust Rudy more.

  12. Lady Luck says:

    Here’s my team:

    JKidd
    Rondo
    Derrick Rose
    Daniel Gibson
    Paul Pierce
    Stephen Jackson
    TMac
    Carmelo
    Shawn Marion
    Nene
    Spencer Hawes

I dropped Chris Duhon and picked up Udonis Haslem off the wire.

I also dropped Chris Wilcox for Tyson Chandler.

There’s still a lot of intriguing guys out on the wire, but right now I think I should ride with these guys. Your thoughts???

  13. Haqq says:

Hey Doc… I’m confused with Josh Howard… I heard he got hurt last game what should I do with him?

  14. AL says:

I am in a 10 man H2H league, below is my team:

    Danny Granger (Ind – G,F)
    O.J. Mayo (Mem – G)
    Mike Dunleavy (Ind – G,F)
    Shawn Marion (Mia – F)
    David West (NO – F)
    Rashard Lewis (Orl – F)
    Shaquille O’Neal (Pho – C)
    David Lee (NY – F,C)
    Spencer Hawes (Sac – C)
    John Salmons (Sac – G,F)
    Michael Redd (Mil – G,F)
    Kevin Love (Min – F,C)
    Roger Mason (SA – G)

My team is ok but weak at Point & Reb. I am thinking of cutting Dunleavy (as he’s out indefinately). I had juz cut hinrich to pick Roger Mason off the waiver.
Rudy Fernandez, Nick Young, Ramon Sessions is still available. Shd I cut Dunleavy and pick any of those?
