(Almost) Daily Fantasy

Josh HowardWill J-Ho be in fantasy lineups this week?

The injury bug continues going into your line up change Monday night. Here is what you should look for tonight.

Deron Williams – The good news is he is traveling with the team. Even better, the Jazz just lost to the Knicks so the urgency to get him back has picked up a bit. That being said, there is no exact date and he is still listed as questionable. We’ll update you as soon as we know. Brevin Knight (who used to be a fantasy favorite) has actually been playing very well in his absence lately.

Josh Howard/Michael Redd – We just hope we’ll know something before lineups are due tonight. Stay tuned.

Andrea Bargnani –
Forget last night’s nice game (18 points, 5 boards, 3 threes and 3 blocks) he has actually looked really good the last straight three games. He’s 15-24 in his last 3 games and is averaging 2 threes per game. It’s only the last three games, but he’s worth keeping an eye on.

Gerald Green – We have a whole post on Green right now. Yes he filled in for Josh Howard with 13 points and 12 rebounds, but really Green isn’t a starting NBA player. He has real talent but can’t create his own shot and can’t dribble. I wouldn’t pick him up.

Rodney Stuckey –
Stuckey left last night’s game against the Celtics after supposedly suffering from dizziness. He was 100% pointing to his chest or heart though as he walked off the court. The trainer says he is fine but look for the Pistons to get tests done before they let Stuckey back on the court. He’s a risky start this week anyway.

Kenyon/Chris Anderson/Kleiza/Balkman – Kenyon missed the game with a wrist injury, Anderson left the game with a broken rib, and Kleiza and Balkman stepped up and looked great. Both Kleiza and Balkman could have value if they received steady minutes but the most likely situation is that Kenyon’s injury is not serious.

Spencer Hawes/Brad Miller/Jason Thompson –
The saga continues. One thing is for sure, Brad Miller makes the Kings a better team. Both Miller and Hawes had strong nights. Jason Thompson played the energy off the bench role and had 7 boards in 19 minutes. Miller and Hawes are both startable. Thompson is questionably ownable.

Aaron Brooks – Brooks scored 20 points in 25 last nights but the Rockets were blown out by the Lakers. Best case scenario is that the Rockets announce the switch to Brooks over the ineffective Alston. I can see this coming. If you’re in a deep league grab Brooks.

Tony Parker – Parker is out for what appears to be a month. No Manu and no Parker equals a whole lot of George Hill and Roger Mason Jr. Maybe even a Michael Finley resurgence. Mason Jr. is the player to own here right now. We’ll monitor the entire situation.

Tony Allen – Allen went 11-16 last night for 23 points and 5 boards. That doesn’t mean you should claim him!

Eric Gordon finally played meaningful minute,s the Clippers won and Gordon looked better than Davis. Watch for Gordon to average 20 minutes/game from now on.

He did well in the game and he did well as a fantasy factor.

  2. rkirby says:

don’t sleep on oj mayo…kid had 31 last night…leading all rookies in scoring…

  3. Hi, Jurg from Denmark says:

Oh Mr Fantasy Doctor what to do, what to do. I have strong side but coming last from 12 by many points. My really good friend Roger from Sweden come second last but beating me by 10 points in yahoo competition, and this is with 9 categories including turnovers.

-Jurg’s team is this (you will note, no Randy Sessions) =

    PG. Beno
    SG. Jamal Crawford
    GG. Raja Bell
    SF. Kevin Durant
    PF. Rudeez Gay
    FF. AK49
    CC. Elton Brand
    CC. Ming yao
    Utility. Josh Howard
    Utility. Jianlian Yi
    Bench. Michael Conley Junior
    Bench. Andrew Bargnani
    Bench. Etan Thomas
    Bench. Sebastian Telfair

Like I say, I got good players. No one is playing their good games except Andrei K.

Please help with this problem fantasy doctor and I will have a long think about your recomendations cos last one is still like licking a crack in the ass. Just don’t taste too good in the mouth.

This is from your Jurg and I am coming with the holla for my homeez like Mr Youngfed. Hi Hi.

loot – It’ll take more than 20 minutes for Gordon to have value this season. That being said, if the Clippers are awful, he might have value towards the end of the year.

rkirby – Mayo is a no brainer own. the 26 in the first half yesterday was impressive.

Jurg – Your bench is bad. Very bad. And you really need a better util player than Yi. You’re low in assists so I’d probably play Telfair over Yi for now. Any good free agents out there?

  5. Chill says:

    Doc

I saw on your other post you had JaVale McGee as a potential pickup. Who would you rather play? Him or Hakeem Warrick? ( I currently have Warrick). Thanks.

  6. baraks says:

doc, should I drop Jameer for Aaron Brooks? I’m really starting to hate Jameer’s stats so far, but I’m really in need for assists. I already have two microwave scorers in BG and NateRob.

thanks in advance for the help.

  7. The Fantasy Doctor says:

    Chill – Stick with Warrick.

Baraks – Jameer is a huge disappointment (again). I wouldn’t drop him for Brooks though.

  8. NYC... says:

Is Telfair worth getting in the long run over Duhon?

  9. flyp says:

    Hey Doc,

I can get Zach Randolph for Spencer Hawes. Do I pull the trigger?

    Thanks.

  10. Nimit says:

    Hey doc,

David West and Jamal Crawford available on the waivers..im thinking about cutting marc gasol and gilbert arenas to get them…worth it?

West over gasol seems a no brainer to me. Im just wondering if cutting areans is a good choice. He probably wont be back for another month and a half. and with his new contract the wizards will take their time with him…i dont know…maybe its worth it.

  11. The Fantasy Doctor says:

    NYC – you’d rather duhon.

Flyp – You get randolph? Yes. that’s the exact definition of selling high.

Nimit – Sounds like as shallow league. Def cut Gasol for West. Anyone else you can cut than Arenas?

  12. MW says:

    Hey Doc,
I am looking at picking up Lowery, who should I drop Stuckey or Udrih? Thank in advance.

  13. NT says:

I have a trade offer where I send Spencer Hawes and get Tracy Mcgrady and Delonte West. I don’t really need Delonte West but seems to get better and better with time, especially in the steals, blocks, and 3′s. Should I make the trade?

I’m in espn head to head with the regular 9 categories.

  14. DrunkPTownLegend says:

Brook Lopez…..Is this guy worth holding onto right now?? I know when he gets some minutes he’ll produce, but is it worth the wait?

  15. JT says:

    Hey Doc,

Should I trade Josh Howard and T-Mac for Mike Miller and Maggette? Im leery of T-mac right now and I desperatly need the 3 pointers.

Im in a 10 team roto league.

  16. The Fantasy Doctor says:

    MW – neither.

  17. Doe Dumars says:

I need help on the boards/block with Josh Smith down..

What do you think of Gordon for Randolph?

Can Zach keep it up? Gordon will eventually cool a little right? Even as a starter with Kirk out??

  18. The Fantasy Doctor says:

NT – It’s not that easy of a call is it. Delonte doesn’t interest me. I’m hesitant though I like trading Hawes high.

DrunkPTownLegend – totally depends on who else is out there.

    JT – No.

  19. NYC... says:

Is Tyrus Thomas worth a waiver pick? Im 5th on the list in a 10 team league. Or is his minutes going to be down for the majority of the season

  20. Nimit says:

    Hey doc,

ive got Baron, Kevin Martin, LBJ, Boozer, Horford, T-mac, Artest, Zach Randolph, Nene, Marc Gasol, Hawes, JR Smith, and Arenas.

so yea, no one else really cut-able…

the question is this, do you expect arenas to be so good that its worth holding him for another 2 months.

  21. V says:

    Hey Doc,

What are your thoughts on my team?

    D Wade
    AI2 (iggy pop)
    S Jax
Salmons (i know you dont like him ;) lol)
    Thornton
    Jamison
    Aldridge
    Jefferson
    Nene
    Oj Mayo
    Nick Young
    Wilson Chandler
    Rudy Fernandez
    Randy Foye

My bench is pretty interchangeable as they are all performing, so i throw them out there depending on heat check and matchups.

Hit me back with your thoughts?
