(Almost) Daily Fantasy

Dwight HowardBEAST

Dwight Howard –
Um. WOW. Triple double? 10 blocks? He could shoot 10% from the line as far as I’m concerned. This stat line on the same day that it came out that he’s had the same knee bother him since he was 15 years old. I wouldn’t be too worried about the knee.

Jason Thompson – It’s very official, Thompson should be on rosters. I can’t imagine Mikki Moore continuing to get big minutes over Thompson when Kevin Martin comes back. Thompson had 16 and 11 last night.

Wilson Chandler – You think Nate’s night was good? Chandler was 11 for 12 from the field including 4 for 4 from three. He had 27 points, 7 boards, 3 assists, and 3 steals. Oh yeah, and a block too. He’s going to be inconsistent (as will the entire Knicks) but he has crazy fantasy potential.

Elton Brand – Sure he had 25 points. Again, he’ll get his. Important stat though? 3 more blocks. That’s 7 in two games and a very good sign.

Greg Oden – The stat line isn’t exactly encouraging (3 points, 2 boards and 2 blocks) but 16 healthy minutes definitely is. He’ll be safe to start next week.

Rudy Fernandez – Still not a believer in his value? 25 more points, 3 more trifectas and a bunch of little numbers helping in a every other category. He now has 21 threes in 8 games.

Jameer Nelson – The stats have been quietly encouraging over the last five games. After his 17 point performance last night, Nelson is averaging over 12 points, 5 boards, and 5 assists over the last five games. Those are nice 4th guard numbers.

Shaq - Great game (18, 13 and 4 blocks) but there is a very very very good chance that Shaq is to get suspended for his push of T-Mac last night. Hopefully he can appeal until a back to back where they are going to sit him anyway.

Tracy McGrady – I have two words for you after T-Mac’s 27 point performance last night – TRADE HIGH.

Beno Udrih – 30 points, 7 dimes, 5 boards, and Beno is BACK. Hopefully at least. There have been some other positive signs over the last week and as I said the other day, the Kings are pot committed anyway so Udrih is going to get the run.

Brad Miller – Miller is such an underrated fantasy player. Last night – 16 points, 11 boards, and 8 dimes.

Aaron Brooks/Rafer Alston – I have to admit, I’m tired of writing about these two. One thing – Rafer will probably get suspended one game for his actions last night. Still, both should be owned in probably 14 team leagues and up. After that, it’s a toss up with Rafer still having the edge but Brooks having the more value potential.

Danny Granger – Granger missed last night with a quad injury. Supposedly Granger will be able to play Friday night. Either way, it’s a huge loss for fantasy owners.

Nate Robinson – 8 for 8 from the field. 5 for 5 from three. 21 points and 5 assists. He really is Mike D’s Barbosa.

Andrea Bargnani – It really is every other game for Bargnani. His last 5 games – Game 1- 12 points (2 threes), 4 blocks, and 1 block. Game 2- 9 points (1 three), 3 boards, and 0 blocks. Game 3 - 18 points (3 threes), 5 boards, and 3 blocks. Game 4. 2 points. Last night - 15 points (one three), 5 boards, and 2 blocks. That’s not a guy I could own… Unless they give him the keys over Moon or Bosh/JO get hurt.

TJ Ford – Ford is having the best fantasy week of his career. Shooting at over 50% from the field and 85% from the line, Ford is averaging 21 points, 8.5 assists, and 7.5 boards for the week.

Udonis Haslem – Game number 9. Still zero blocks.

Deron Williams – He was questionable going into last night’s game, which should give you an idea that his ankle is still a question mark. That being said, he’s still a tremendous playmaker and even with the scoring down while he gets healthy and confident, Deron was still 8 points, 7 dimes, and 6 boards last night.

At the end of the year, who do you think will have the better fantasy season Rafer Alston, Chris Duhon, Leo Barbosa or Mike Conley Jr?

    JMG - No.

  13. Flying Turk says:

    Hey Doc,

    i get this offer:

I receive: Josh Smith,Tyrus Thomas and Josh Boone
its a 19player 11cat league and im leading in 3pts made and assists but dying for blocks and rebs.

Doc…I really need some assists. Chalmers really isn’t doing much now, and I can grab Conley, Earl Watson, Kyle Lowry, DJ Augustin, Farmar, and Bassy. Should I drop him and who should I grab if I do?

    Thanks in advance.

  16. Dodge Taylor says:

Doc, another day another poker reference (albeit the same one as yesterday). Just a thought, should we start referring to counter offers as re-raises??!! Ha ha ha, sorry couldn’t resist.
