(Almost) Daily Fantasy + House Call

Randy FoyeWhat to do with Randy Foye?

The Doc is in. If you need fantasy help today, drop your questions/concerns in the comments box and I’ll try to answer as many as possible. Read the (Almost) Daily Fantasy first!

Randy Foye – I warned pretty heavily against Foye on draft day and he hasn’t proved me wrong yet. The minutes are there but the production is not. Foye is averaging 7.3 points per game so far. With Telfair back this week, it’ll be interesting to see where all the minutes go. Don’t cut Foye yet, but don’t rely on him either.

Ramon Sessions –
The waiver wire is hot! That’s two straight productive games for Sessions subbing in for the injured Ridnour. The offense looked very good last night with Sessions running the show. I have to assume they’ll at least give him more burn when Ridnour returns (which is going to be very very soon with the way Sessions has played). They also could give Rid a look at two guard if Redd needs to miss games. Sessions should be owned in just about every 12 team league and higher. It’s a wait and see but the kid can clearly offer stats when he plays.

Michael Redd – There is good news, bad news, and good news about the ankle Michael Redd sprained in last night’s game. The first good news is that the ankle injury didn’t look too too bad. The first bad news is that Michael Redd isn’t actually a spring chicken (yes I just used that expression) and will probably need to rest it. The last piece of good news is that the Bucks don’t play again until Wednesday. We’re going to risk it and play him. But with Arenas on our roster and only 3 bench spots we’d have to cut someone to pick up a guard in his place. So our hands are a bit tied – thus the problem with trying to hold onto to players like Arenas and Ellis.

Chris Duhon – The important thing is that Duhon’s minutes are where they need to be. He’s been in the mid to high 30’s consistently. The fantasy stats have not been. I wasn’t expecting points out of Duhon, but I was expecting better assist and rebounding numbers. His 6 point, 3 dime, and 3 board performance last night looks way too much like his other stat lines. It’s hard to recommend Duhon over someone like Anthony Carter who has had a great first three games. Guess what though? I’d still stick with Duhon at least one more week.

Kenyon Martin/Chris Anderson – K-Mart is listed as questionable, but it doesn’t sound too serious. Chris Anderson would be the next option after K-Mart and at some point the Birdman will have real value this season. That time will probably be when Kenyon has to take a long break though. I’ve said this before, there is nothing worse than a day to day injury in head to head play. You’d much rather know that a guy is going to be out and for how long, even if it is for an extended period of time.

Marcus Camby – The Clippers have a game tonight and we’ll try and update you as late as possible if Camby is going to give it a go.

Tyson Chandler – Chandler looks good to go for Wednesday but it’s of course a risk. We’d probably do it if we owned him unless you had a great alternative.

Rashad McCants – I was waiting for this. One day after praising McCants for two good games in a row, McCants had a very rough night, both in production and minutes. I stand by my claim that I’m just not a fantasy fan of his game.

Baron Davis – The Clippers play 4 games this week and although it sounds like Baron will miss tonight’s, there is a shot he could get in 2 to 3 games this week. Still, he’s a risky start.

The Lakers – The Lakers have a dreaded 2 games this week. The only players who you should 110% play are Kobe and Gasol. Bynum and Odom are obviously next but look at your options first.

Stephon Marbury – The Knicks are trying to work the Steph situation out by Wednesday. If waived, both the Nuggets and Heat are reportedly interested. If you’re an owner, you want Steph going to Miami over Denver. That being said, I’m not 100% sold that this ends this week. Just a hunch.

Peja – Sit him this week.

  1. WEST says:

Would you drop Mike Conley and pick up Anthoney Carter in a 12 team roto league?

  2. NYC... says:

What about Tim Thomas? Do you think he has value longterm?

  3. The Fantasy Doctor says:

    WEST – No.

NYC – not at the second I don’t.

  4. Mooks says:

Who do you think has more value going forward: Q-Rich or Posey?

  5. Mooks says:

Add to my question above… or Jason Thompson?

  6. Mooks says:

    BREAKING NEWS:
The Pistons have reportedly agreed to trade Chauncey Billups and Antonio McDyess to the Nuggets in exchange for Allen Iverson.

    Fantasy take?

  7. The Fantasy Doctor says:

I’m in the process of the complete breakdown as we speak.

  8. Joe says:

Would you drop Rafer Alston? I am hurinting bad in FG% and FT% and rafer certainly won’t help even when/if he gets hot.

Available free agents PGs are Nate Robinson, Ramon Sessions, Chris Duhon Rodney Stuckey or Mario Chalmers.

  9. kdog says:

Was thinking about dropping Ryan Gomes and picking up Walter Herrmann. What’s your opinion?

  10. The Fantasy Doctor says:

Joe, that’s a tough call because there are legit free agents out there right now in your league. Anyone else to cut?

    Kdogg – No.

  11. Joe says:

I also have Spencer Hawes, but I kind of need the blocks and would like to get someone who blocks at least a little bit if I were to drop him. Pietrus and Jeff Green are out there who may at least block a shot a game.

  12. The Fantasy Doctor says:

Sessions, Nate Rob or Stuckey are the options in the guard spot. I think it’s a very tough call with those three and Rafer right now.

  13. aj says:

    Trade Offer:

S-Jack and Joe Johnson for Boozer and Okur (both have C eligibility).

    My team currently:

    D-Will
    Joe Johnson
    Nash
    Josh Howard
    Marvin Williams
    S-Jack
    Collison
    Shaq
    Kidd
    Rudy F
    Greg Oden
    Manu
    Monta

Head-to-head league. I got Shaq as you instructed and someone foolishly dropped Oden last week so I snatched him up for K Perkins. I like the trade but I’m a Jazz-homer and need another opinion.

  14. The Fantasy Doctor says:

Aj, That’s a tough deal. Obviously Boozer is great. Okur is solid. You’re giving up a ton of threes though (Okur helps a little bit but not that much) though you’re gaining in FG percentage. I wouldn’t do it. At least not now. You do need to sure up the center spot. Hey if it looked like S-Jack and Marvin Williams for Boozer, I’d say do it. But that’s going to be tough to pull off!

  15. C-Hova says:

Hey Doc, what’s going on with Dunleavy? Is he worth keeping a hold of or should I drop him and pick up Monte Ellis? It’s just weird cause he’s not listed as injured, but said to be out indefinitely

  16. son # 1 says:

should i start Azubuike or Stuckey this week?
