Best Fantasy Game… EVER?
Someone in our league is arguing that Amare Stoudemire had the greatest fantasy game EVER last night. It’s an interesting argument especially considering that you can also say that it wasn’t even the greatest fantasy game of last night. Check out Amare and Tony Parker’s stat lines from last night.
Amare’s line - 17 for 21 from the field. 15 for 15 from the line. 49 points, 11 rebounds, 6 assists, 5 steals, and 3 blocks.
Tony Parker’s Line - 22 for 36 from the field. 2 threes. 9 for 10 from the line. 55 points, 10 assists and 7 boards.
WOW. Both lines are crazy. Though I’ll take Amare. Was it the best ever? First thing I did was go check Kobe’s 81 point stat line. Here it is - 28 for 46 from the field. 7 threes. 18 for 20 from the line. 6 boards, 2 assists, 3 steals and 1 block.
I’ll still take Amare. Thoughts? Other absurd stat lines you can find? Leave them in the comments box.

Wilt in Hershey.
Or one of Moses Malone’s 30-30 games.
If we’re talking post fantasy era, I’d say Chris Paul has some gems lined up.

A-Slam says:
I honestly couldn’t think of another one, it was damn near perfect game for Amare. TP missed 14 shots while Amare only missed four let alone he scored all his 49 in regulation. Not to mention 15-15 from the line is crazy especially for a big man ( take notes, dwight howard) this definately has to be the craziest stat line ive seen

Dime Magazine says:
I’m going with Amare’s too - that’s just ridiculous. I’m not completely sold on this, but I actually think I’ve got one that will top Amare’s night…
Shareef Abdur-Rahim on 11/23/01
50 points (21-30 FG, 70% FG), 8-8 FT, 12 reb’s, 5 assists, 2 steals, 1 block, and 2 turnovers
David Robinson’s 71-point night is undermined by his 8 TO’s and his fG % wasn’t as high.

Kirilenko has some crazy lines. he’s the founder of the 5×5 stat (at least 5 in each points, boards, assists, steals, and blocks)

Quadrouple doubles!
Hakeem Olajuwon, March 29, 1990, Houston vs. Milwaukee; 18 points, 16 rebounds, 10 assists, 11 blocks.[3]
David Robinson, February 17, 1994, San Antonio vs. Detroit; 34 points, 10 rebounds, 10 assists, 10 blocks

alex says:
i’ll take Kobe’s stat-line just because of the 7 3ptm. But of course, a lot of it depends on how your team is composed. I’ll take Amare’s if I don’t care about 3ptm.
November 6th, 2008 at 10:36 am
rangerjohn says:
im gonna go with david robinsons feb 17th 1994 quad-double
34 points, 10 rebounds, 10 assists, 10 blocks
12 of 20 shooting, 10 of 17 ft (the dark spot), 2 steals, only 1 TO and only 1 foul
November 6th, 2008 at 10:39 am

I’d go with AK47. That guy saved a few of my fantasy teams with his 5×5 shit.

Joseph says:
Hey Doc any thoughts Bradan Wright? 18 pts 13 rebs and 3 blks pales in comparision to Amare, but Amare isn’t on the waiver wire lol. Do you think Wright is better to take a chance on over Spencer Hawes, Jamario Moon, Yi Jianlian and Jeff Green? Thanks

rangerjohn says:
oh i would go with spencer hawes myslef.

P_Dizzle says:
Have to agree with post #3 and say Wilt in Hershey where he scored 100 points on 36-63 fg and 28-32 ft and grabbed 25 boards! I am sure he had at least one assist since they did score 169 points in that meaningless game. I am also sure he had a few blocked shots. But I also bet he had a few turnovers but hell when you score 100 pts and grab 25 boards, I think those will offset the turnovers.
Y’all forgot to add one more crazy fantasy stat from last night. Kwame Brown! Dude was killing it. Career-highs in points (3) rebounds (4) and turnovers (0)! Dude was straight up destroying the Raptors last night! Here’s his line:
FG 1-4 FT 1-1 REB 4 AST 0 STL 0 BLK 0 TO 0 PF 1 PTS 3 MINS 18
November 6th, 2008 at 11:17 am
Ian says:
who cares if it was in double ot parker had 42 by the end of regulation
fuck that thing shoulda gone to 6 ots and see if he could go for 100. parker played around 5 mns more thats it. besides what is this crap about mns played a game is a game.
amare gets his points being spoon fed by nash and dunking parker got 50 creating shit himself and only 2 threes. so pleaseeee there is no comparison of who had the most impressive line.
player a . get the ball near the rim for a dunk
or
player b . who gets the ball when is inbounded dribbles downcourt and scores himself.
fantasy wise amare put the better numbers but in a game parkers was more impressive
November 6th, 2008 at 11:24 am
Ian says:
parker 42 9 5 end of regulation and played 5 mns less than amare
now to the haters u guys have no more shit to talk about that now u use mns played?????
when we all know that the superstars that get less playin time in the nba are the spurs trio
cant even imagine the stats that numbers manu and parker would put up in 7 more mns a game.
November 6th, 2008 at 11:29 am
loot says:
Olajuwon: 18 points, 16 rebounds, 11 blocked shots, and 10 assists only knock: 1 stl, 5 to’s and 42.9fg%.
Robinson: 34 points, 10 rebounds, 10 assists, 10 blocks and 2 stl, 1 to and 60% fg, only knock: 58.8% ft (10/17).
Some other great fantasy lines:
Olajuwon in 87: 38pts 17reb 6ast 7stl 12blk and in 90 29pts 18reb 10ast 5stl 11blk
Olajuwon had the sickest fantasy lines, where was Yahoo in the late 80’s/early 90’s? hahaha

its gonna be either nash or deron in the allstar game and if that shit is in phoenix deron will have to wait one more season

dagwaller says:
Ever since I was a little kid, I heard that there were certain “Where were you when…?” moments in life. Where were you when JFK was shot? Where were you when 9/11 happened? (Not even close to being born yet; in my dorm room then walking to work). I remember Kobe scoring 81 like it was yesterday. I was up late playing games with my brother with the TV on in the background, constantly just checking up on the games of the night. Chris Berman suddenly dropped the bomb: Kobe was going to end up with 81. Sportscenter cut to the game for the duration. I was ecSTATIC. Kobe was my number one pick in my fantasy league that year.
That was when I forgot that Kobe was a cheater (on his wife), a whiner, broke up the Lakers, and generally was just a douche. Best fantasy game ever.

What about Shaq getting 61 pts and 23 rebs?
November 6th, 2008 at 4:13 pm
amare = black jesus says:
Ian you are retarded. you obviously didn’t watch Amare last night because you were too busy blowing all the spurs. He was hitting jumpers and he was driving past fools for dunks, not being spoon fed by nash (only 6 assists in the game for nash, which is weird because Amare had 6 too). 2 of the misses by Amare were 1 second left on the shot clock 3s and the other 2 were 20 ft jumpers with 1 on the shot clock as well. Look at his defensive stats too, 3 blocks, 5 steals, and 3 fouls. Parkers were 0 blocks, 0 steals, and 0 fouls in 55 min. i know you spurs fans are used to fouls not being called on you, but 0 in 55 min seems like someone wasn’t even trying at defense. What is it you spurs fans have been saying about the suns for 4 years now? “its easy to score all those points if you dont play any defense.” Well i guess your boy parker took that advice to heart.
November 6th, 2008 at 4:21 pm
dagwaller says:
@35, sheer coincidence that I’m posting this right after you.
Amare did have a monster game in all facets.
But after seeing the “foul” on him after a dunk, by Travis Diener, I’m going to have to disallow his night from the conversation.
http://www.basketbawful.com has the link and a little write-up about it.
Hahahahahahaha seriously, I’m a huge Suns fan and I like Amare, but this is one of the worst flops of all time.

amare = black jesus says:
yeah i will agree with that flop, but i thought it was more funny than anything. Amare was even laughing at it.
November 6th, 2008 at 4:40 pm
dagwaller says:
Haha, I’m still laughing. Maybe refs should be allowed to reverse their decisions after about 3 seconds. Like when they see the guy LAUGHING at himself and the call.
November 6th, 2008 at 4:44 pm
amare = black jesus says:
haha i can agree with that for sure. If Crawford was the ref he prob would have thrown Amare out of the game. you know he doesn’t like to be laughed at.
November 6th, 2008 at 4:57 pm
dagwaller says:
Ha, good point. I feel like if there were two younger refs with Crawford, they would’ve just walked over to him, had some silent words, and then escorted him out of the arena just like this.

I still can’t believe that this guy was a Finals MVP…

Meica says:
That Robinson line is sick… just sick. I thought Amare did have the best fantasy game of all time last night, but apparently, I was wrong. Still, that was damn sick last night. I guess they call him STAT for good reason.
