BREAKING NEWS: Wizards Fire Eddie Jordan

Can’t say we didn’t see this coming – we’ve been talking a lot about how awful it must be to be a part of the Wizards this season. For a guy who once thought of as the game’s next coaching genius (when he was an assistant in New Jersey, Jordan’s name was always brought up whenever a head coaching spot opened up), this has ended up a mess.
He was hailed for bringing a “Princeton-style” offense to the Wiz, but at some point that just de-volved into whoever brings the ball up launches it. Obviously, the injuries to Gilbert and Brendan Haywood haven’t helped, but this team looks like they barely listen to Jordan.
Director of Player Personnel Ed Tapscott is going to take over as head coach.

Eddie Jordan looks like that guy who comes over your house and fires off a hot nasty mess in your bathroom.

Spliff 2 My Lou says:
Scapegoat. He’s not the one who signed the injury plagued Arenas to an absurd contract. This team will be bad with whoever coaches them.

Not much you can do when you are handed a broken superstar to lead your team.
I liked what Eddie was doing with the Wiz given the options he had. Javale McGee was coming along way ahead of schedule and looked better than Blatche, Haywood or Thomas as the starting 5.
Caron went from Lakers cast-away to all star and top 5 SF under Eddie’s watch and Antwan played the best ball of his carrer…..
This season’s mess was not Eddie’s doing.

MJAX says:
This will be interesting to watch and see if the team actually improves now (which I don’t think they will). They will then see they made a mistake. You can have 3 All Stars on your team, but if you take away the main one and have a bench like the Wiz, you will not win a lot of games.. Take away Nash, Kobe, Garnett, Iverson, McGrady from their big 3 and they won’t win as much either.

as a big wiz fan this was a long time coming. eddie should’ve been fired this past season after the wiz lost for the third time to the cavs in the playoffs. eddie was not a great in game coach either and had problems making the necessary adjustments. he was a good coach for us but this was the move that had to be made

Gerard says:
Yeah he’s a quality coach, although perhaps not a championship caliber coach. I agree the don mega, Cleveland needs to get on the horn with him right now

Eddie can’t coach… he’s just been lucky to have great players to carry him along…
This was a good move that should have taken place in the offseason.

karizmatic says:
Good, after Eddie Jordan’s comments last week he should have been fired, he obviously is tired has lost control of his team and doesn’t want his job. Good riddance. Eddie Jordan shouldn’t be a coach in the league ever again.

Chaos says:
as a wizards fan, you could see this coming. he didnt really shake the lineup like he should have with agent 0 out. javale mcgee should have been in the starting lineup…and nick young should see more tick. eddie was not a championship coach either. he could have adjusted to the cavs at least once in 3 years

He just doesn’t have the intelligence to be a head coach in this league. You can tell by looking at his face. He was always a fraud.

@ post 12 , damn right, in the playoffs he made it so easy for Lebron to score against the Wizards, he might as well work for the Cavs now

Bad move. That the Wiz even made the playoffs the last couple of years was due to his coaching. As a long time Bullets/Wiz fan I only see a return to the old days. Since they have all given up, you might as well bring Wes back to go for the #1 pick.
