Brook Lopez Is Much Better Than I Thought

It didn’t take much for Brook Lopez to show that he’s better than I originally expected. That’s mostly because I was wholly unconvinced by his career at Stanford, where he was able to put up numbers because people were staring at his sternum when he turned around for an 8-foot bank shot.

But it turns out that Lopez has the ability to hit that same shot whether he’s being guarded by someone who is 6-7 or 7-0. Even if that’s the only shot that Lopez can consistently make, that is enough justification for him to have a job in this League for a while. He doesn’t even need to get “open” per se to make it, he just needs to pivot toward the rim.

   I remember these two guys running uncontrollably around the gym when they were jsut little kids and basically giving the f you look to their mom. Glad to see that they made it. Too bad their older bro didn’t.
