Cast Your All-Star Ballot Here

Today is the first day of All-Star voting. Though the polls close on January 19th, a full two months from now, it isn’t too early to cast your vote. It’s early. But never too early. You know that if Gilbert were actually playing this year, he would have already had his All-Star campaign politicking in your locale since Halloween.

Though we wish that the League took up Austin’s suggestion to change the ballot to reflect the way the game is really played, we’re not going to pull a Gilbert and pretend to abstain from voting. And goodness it is tough to choose just two guys in the guard/forward categories. Though you know a bunch more guys will make the actual roster, how can you choose between LeBron, Pierce, KG, Bosh, and Danny Granger?

We’ve got the entire ballot listed below - scour carefully and cast your All-Star Ballot in the comments section below:

  15. dagwaller says:

AK, Monta Ellis is on the West ballot, Gilbert is on the East, and Chauncey/AI are on with their original Conferences - you know, the ones they played about 5 games in. So hopefully this isn’t what the official ballot looks like.

  16. Zach says:

Some of the people on this ballot are pretty damn shady. How is anyone from NY on the ballot? Zach and Marbury? Give me a fuckin break.

Rafer? The guy makes Houston worse when he is on the floor.

    Quit slacking Dime.

  22. Ian says:

    parker
    kobe
    tim
    amare
    yao

  23. P_Dizzle says:

    East
    Jose Calderon D-Wade
    Lebron James Paul Pierce
    Dwight Howard

    West
Kobe CP3 (only because D-Will has been injured)
    Amare Duncan
    Yao

We all know that the starters are all a popularity contest.

  24. Spliff 2 My Lou says:

Unless they have some rule to prevent it, Yi is gonna have the backing of a billion people so he’s going to take a forward spot from the east.

  25. Big Shot BOB says:

    West

    CP3
    Kobe
    A. Stat
    Aldridge
    Bynum

    East

    Joe Johnson
    D-Wade
    Lebron
    KG
    Centaur

I picked based on who is killing numbers wise right now but the season is still early. The most difficult position for me was the fowards in the East since you have KG, PP and Bosh but I’m sure they will make the reserves. In the West it’s hard because you end up having to play power fowards over small fowards and your starting lineup looks gay.

I hate it when people do it on NBA live so I definitely don’t want to see players play out of position in the Allstar game.

  26. RENO says:

    East:
    Joe Johnson
    D-Wade
    Lebron
    K.G.
    D-Howard

    West:
    CP3
    Kobe
    STAT
    Tim Duncan
    Yao

  27. Big Shot BOB says:

And please people base your votes on who is actually playing well this year. I hate to see guys that have been injured or not playing well and still make the squad. Then you have players that are perinnial just because of there name like Iverson, Duncan, T-mac, Vince Carter (especially this guy he’s playing pretty good this year but fans usually vote him in because they want to see his athleticism but if your not playing well you should not be playing in an allstar game.

  28. David Brandon says:

    @andrew,

i dont think it slipped through the cracks so much as a player has to actually PLAY to be considered. while its turned into something more of a popularity contest lately (which has KINDA been changing seeing as shaq didnt get on the team last year), if a players always injured or doesnt play and is named an all star, whats that say to guys who’ve been bustin their ass every night hoopin and get burned?? thats not cool. maybe its just a buncha shallow fans who dont understand or truly follow the L, but it should be based on the contributions to the team and….honestly, how exciting that player is. if beno udrih got 10 dimes per, but was boring as hell doin it, then nope, cant go. its the all star game man!! it should be at least fun to watch too…

  29. Bondzai says:

    Joe Johnson
    Jose Calderon
    Lebron James
    Chris Bosh
    Dwight Howard

    Chris Paul
    Kobe Bryant
    Rudy Gay
    Amare Stoudemire
    Al Jefferson

  30. MoxWestCoastRep says:

Wow. The East is waay harder to choose than the West
    East
    Guards-D.wade and TJ
    Forwards-LBJ and PP
    Center-Superman
    West
    Guards-CP3 and Mamba
    Forwards-Timmy and Gasol
    Center- Yao

Why are people who are injured even an option! I hate that!

  31. BEdger says:

let me drop a little knowledge about the all star ballot, first of all this ballot is made by a panel of media folks and is finished and handed into the NBA a week BEFORE the season starts. They are REQUIRED to have AT LEAST 3 players from every team on the ballot.

Come on people, you find 3 players from OKC or Minnesota or Sacremento to put on the ballot. It aint that easy

  32. Dagomar says:

One thing I notice about this list: the (top) talent disparity between East and West is reduced this year. The top five East players might be better than the top five West players. The West is much deeper overall, though.

  33. James says:

    Joe Johnson/Wade
    James/Pierce
    Howard

    Kobe/Paul
    Duncan/Stoudemire
    Shaq

  34. JR says:

Though not likely, it’d be cool to see an all lakers or all rockets lineup for the west.

    lakers: G - Fisher, Bryant, F - Odom, Gasol, C - Bynum
    rockets: G - Alston, McGrady, F - Artest, Battier, C - Yao

wasn’t there an all pistons lineup played at one point during the all star game a couple of years ago?

  35. Jim McNeil says:

    East

    G Wade
    G Joe Johnson
    F LeBron
    F Danny Granger
    C Dwight Howard

    West
    G CP3
    G Kobe

    kobe
    cp3
    melo
    duncan

  37. Three Stacks says:

West: CP, Kobe, Amare, TD, and Biedrins (or Rudy Gay at 3 if they let Timmy play center)

East: Calderon, Wade, Lebron, Bosh, Dwight

  38. rean pogi says:

    -kg
    -dwight

    WEST
    -cp3
    -kobe
    -Amare
    -Dirk
    -Shaq

  39. Mo says:

They print out these ballots too early. Some guys on the ballot haven’t even played games yet. Like Gary Payton said, some of these guys shouldn’t even be on this ballot.

  40. Capt Stabbin says:

    East- West-

    SG- Joe Jeezy SG- Mamba
    SF- King SF- STAT

    West
    Pg. Kobe
    Sg. T-Mac
    Sf. Melo
    Pf. Amare

  42. jefferson says:

everybody realizes that Yi Jianlian is getting the start at PF right? unless the NBA fixes the ballots there’s gonna be a billion people voting for him.

  43. rodnets says:

East JJ, Wade, LBJ, Bosh, Superman

West Cp3, Kb8, Ron Ron, Amare, Duncan

(phuk Yao he gets there because of the 10000000000000000 chinese voters)

    WEST:

    G - Chris Paul
    G - Kobe Bryant
    F - Amare Stoudemire
    F - Tim Duncan
    C - Yao Ming
im sorry but there is NO WAY Joe Johnson will be a starter in the allstar game, he wont beat out iverson for that guard spot, there are a million more iverson fans than there are jj fans. What no yi?

  46. rell says:

    East
    Joe Johnson/Wade
    Lebron/Pierce
    Dwight Howard

    West

    KG
    Dwight

    West:
    CP3

Shaq (he’s playing good as of late)

  49. sans says:

    Lebron–2nd easiest pick
    Dwight–the most undeniable, easy pick

Speed vs a giant frontline–and fuck Yao. I hope the Chinese are intelligent enough to realize that Yi isn’t anywhere near All Star level yet…
