Cavs Put Dirk Nowitzki on Lock

We told you that we’d be watching Cavs/Mavs tonight to see if LeBron would give Dallas 40. At the half, ‘Bron’s not much of a story (12 points).
The real story is Cleveland’s defense. They are all over Dirk Nowitzki, who at the half only has two points on 1-7 shooting. I’ve never thought much of Mike Brown as a coach, but tonight’s he’s mixing and matching guys on Dirk and it’s paying off. On back-to-back possessions at the end of the half, Dirk tried to take Ben Wallace and Zydrunas Ilgausksas one-on-one. Both times, Dirk had his shot put back in his face.

one part of the game, Delonte west out hustled Dirk to a loose ball & Dirk gave little effort. I said to myself “It’s going to be a long season in Dallas”

Ugly game from Dallas. For a team that wants to be considered contenders, they put forth no effort at all tonight. Only bright spot was Green and Bass, who was dunking on everybody.
