Confessions of a 12th man

Celtics

As the Celtics put the finishing touches on a blowout win over the Pistons, Brian Scalabrine is naturally one of the guys on mop-up duty. Digging for something to talk about in a game that’s no longer in question, TNT’s Doug Collins and Kevin Harlan started talking about Scal’s fan-favorite status in Boston, and apparently Veal told them about the “pressure” he faces when he gets on the court. You see, since the crowd wants him to shoot it every time he gets it in garbage time, Scalabrine said he finds it hard staying focused and playing within the team concept when he wants to give the fans what they want. We’re playing the world’s smallest violin over here.

lets hope he is joking…he is a joke…he is a lucky one

  3. bill says:

did you not see him come in in second quarter to hit the corner three and got the crowd going thus getting the team going

  4. JCARR says:

Scalabrine is pink, he is so pale. Might as well dress him as the “Lucky” from lucky charms. This guy got a free ring. He should do what he wants, the celts still pay him.

Sorry have I stepped into a parallel universe? Dime, have you lost your minds? Scalabrine is joking with these comments, as he has been since day one. I have no idea why people seem to be getting on him for being some conceited asshat, but he’s just being sarcastic. See: Pollard, Scot for a similar situation.

At best, mock him for not being funny, but you can’t mock him because you can’t understand a simple joke.

Yeah, I said that once here too. I really don’t get why everyone seems to think the dude is arrogant. That is so far from the truth I can’t really understand it… Come on, dudes, he’s joking, he’s always joking. He’s the most self-deprecating player on the league, how in the world do you get arrogance from that? Seriously, get off his f****** ass…

  7. mike says:

I don’t think he is joking at all, the crowd starts cheering every single time the ball goes near him.

  8. Celts Fan says:

ya. but it’s the, “the autistic team manager just checked into the game!” kinda cheers, not exactly the “holy crap, here comes KG and Paul Pierce” cheers. The difference, of course, is that we saw that JMac was actually pretty good…
