The Gym is Open in Atlanta

Converse’s Open Gym program has been a hit across the country. Philadelphia, Miami, and Chicago have all embraced the program that gives kids the opportunity to just simply play ball all day.
This Sunday, Converse took Open Gym to Atlanta. If you’re not familiar with the basketball scene in the ATL you should get with it. Basketball in the “A” is huge, and kids of all ages came out to be a part of the city’s first Open Gym.
Held at Georgia Tech’s sick campus recreation center, two hundred-plus kids came out to lace up their sneakers and play some ball. Little did they know how they were about to get hooked up. Every kid who came through got a pair of Converse’s new basketball performance shoe, the Converse 0100, as well as a free jersey, a baller bag that included Acie Law and Mo Evans (both Converse endorsers) playing cards and copies of Bounce.
The surprises didn’t end there. Participants were addressed by Acie Law IV and Mo Evans of the Atlanta Hawks. Law and Evans talked to the kids and answered questions from the audience. They also assisted in handing out the free kicks.
Acie and MoThe event was a huge hit and some kids were overheard asking when the next Open Gym would be taking place. It looks like the Gym is officially open in the “A-town.”
The next installment of Open Gym Atlanta will be December 6th at Archer Hall on the campus of Morehouse College. For more info hit up www.converse.com/opengym.
