Derrick Rose Didn’t Get One Vote

Derrick RoseNo love from the GMs

When the NBA released its annual preseason survey of league general managers, they chose Michael Beasley to be Rookie of the Year followed by Greg Oden, O.J. Mayo, Kevin Love, Anthony Randolph and Russell Westbrook. Derrick Rose didn’t get one vote.

Perhaps that’s why Rose, who has no time for hazing, leads all rookies in scoring at 17.8 points per game, to go with 4.2 assists and 3.6 rebounds in 35 minutes a night.

Although Beasley came out and said he’s gunning for the award, after the first week, who would you say is in the lead?

    Easily Rose.

  2. doc says:

D-Roseis ROY and the best player in this class hands down.

  3. Octopus Jonny says:

I’d say it’s a safe bet that by season’s end, Milwaukee Bucks rookie Luc Richard Mbah a Moute will be in the discussion, AT THE VERY LEAST. If Skiles keeps giving the kid burn like last night, (barring any major bonehead mistakes, this will continue)LRMAM will continue to be THE steal of the draft.

  4. Jah says:

    1. Derrick Rose
    2. Michael Beasley

    Thus far…

  5. Blue says:

It’s only been about week and B-Easy is tryin’ to find his role in the offense since he’s playing second fiddle. don’t hand rose the ROY award just yet!

  6. JDigiac says:

All of the rookies are producing… Rose, Beasley, Mayo, Westbrook, Love, Thompson, Mbah a Moute, Speights, Chalmers, Arthur, the list continues… but theres alot of rooks putting up numbers, especially on the boards.

  7. A-Slam says:

Rose looks like a vet and the rest of the bulls are playing like rookies

I called it before they drafted this kid but he has the potential to challenge CP3, DWill and TP for best pg in the L

Again, I said potential. Let’s see what heppens if he hits the rookie wall

  12. mfmv19 says:

  15. Dime Magazine says:

Beasley is adapting, and has gotten better each game. Two months from now, this won’t even be a discussion. Beasley is going to win it.

  23. tim says:

Fernandez is a beast.. I wish the dude would be starting and not coming off the bench…

  24. Casey Lee says:

Marc Gasol, he is putting better nubmers than his older brother.

  26. shake&bake says:

The Bulls are a completely different team when Rose goes out. They look like a little below average team when he’s in, but when he goes out they look like a high school team.

  27. Magnifico says:

im looking forward to the NBA Rookies vs. Sophomores game. Rose-Beasley-Mayo versus Durant-Horford and Co.

Wonder which team Oden will play for?

The NBA is overloaded with young talent. Nice.

  28. webbie352 says:

    rose by 45 miles.
