Duke Fans Are Really Classy
The majority of Madison Square Garden stood to applaud Dean Smith as he received the Joe Lapchick Award for being a man of character and conviction. But the Duke fans in the building stood, cupped their hands and booed the heck out of Smith.
The Duke/UNC dislike runs ridiculously deep. If K.C. Jones showed up to the Staples Center, do you think that they would stand and boo him?
Are there any NBA rivalries as heated as Duke/North Carolina?

NBA isnt too consistent with the same rivalries. After players get traded or they loose players the rivalry is put on mute. College programs like Duke and NC always have the best recruited players so, it lives on. Also, the crowd plays a big factor in ravalries.
I would love to see the NBA have 70 year old grandpas or even 40 yr. old ppl jump up and down for 2 and half hours. LOL

There never has been and never will be another rivalry like the Duke/UNC rivalry in the NBA, MLB, NFL, MLS, Professional Rugby League, or any other sport at any level. It’s the greatest sports rivalry of all time PERIOD.
