Grading Greg Oden’s “Debut”
G.O.Technically this isn’t Greg Oden‘s debut. But given that he only got to play for five minutes the first time he took the floor, this has been the first real chance to watch G.O.
He had a monster block in the early-going and had a pretty nice dunk too. But he’s also looked tentative at times, getting blocked by Michael Beasley. Nate McMillan said that he wanted to get Oden 15-20 minutes of burn tonight, but he’s only seen 9 minutes thus far, in which he’s posted 2 points, 2 rebounds and a block. Still not much to go off of.
What do you think of Oden thus far?

Greatest center in NBA history.
Oh wait, I’m not a Portland fan…
Even Greg Oden’s mom couldn’t make a judgment on him yet.

We are dying for you to have a monster game. Hope our investments worth it. Good thing we also signed up KD.

Big guy’s gotta take it slow. Thank god he didn’t fall down. He was definately affecting shots, but definately looked unsure of himself too. He’s gonna get better, a lot better.

looked tentative, still out of shape, post game needs a ton of work, had a couple of nice blocks, very mediocre start, but even with all of that said….. does show flashes of the potential that made him the #1 overall pick

Greg Oden looked really slow out there. It almost seemed like he was over his head out there.
Hopefully he can get things together and turn into a solid NBA center.
Speaking of recent draft picks, here’s a couple of guys that I have been surprised at how well they have played:
Adam Morrison and Yi Jianlian
Yeah, they aren’t superstars, but they have each had some decent games. They are exceeding my low expectations of them (not saying much).

What about Rudy Fernandez is this guy good or what. You heard it here first by the end of the year this guy will be in the ROY conversation. He’s like the new Manu Ginobili and has the potential to be even better. And that’s saying alot since I always put Manu in the conversation as the best foreign player to ever play in the league. I’d even go as far as saying Manu is the 3 best shooting gaurd in the league.

Rudy is the man. I saw the minute & a half-long preseason highlights vs. the Kings on youtube and immediately went to the free agent list in my fantasy comp to pick him up. That’s how impressed I was. Undeniable talent.
