Hamed Haddadi To The D-League
It appears the question in last week’s Hit List about how low the Grizzlies have to go before Hamed Haddadi is allowed on the court has been answered. For a team that starts three rookies, a sophomore and a junior, and with only four wins to boot, you wouldn’t think that it would be that hard for Haddadi to at least get a couple minutes of burn.
Instead, the Iranian center, who has yet to see one minute of regular-season action for Memphis, will be sent to the D-League next week. To illustrate how important the youth are to the Grizzlies, Haddadi will be the team’s first D-League assignment since Alexander Johnson two seasons ago.
Should Haddadi be getting minutes over Darko?

If Hamed doesn’t get any PT this year, I see it being another J.C. Navarro situation, where he’s just like “Eff this” and goes back overseas where he’s not playing scrub minutes for a garbage team.

i’m really shaking my head so i won’t write smh. all that fuss to get him here was to end up being underwhelmed enough by his talent to send him to the d-league? are they doing it because they don’t think he’s ready for nba competition? if so, is the d-league going to be better for him than actual game competition or nba practices? cause they not winning either way so why not put him in unless he’s completely terrible and if he’s completely terrible then why pay all that money (and go through all that ra ra to get him) i don’t know about you chris wallace.

i agree and i’ll say that the difference between the two might be that your boy navarro can actually play at this level (and maybe hadadi can too-but apparantly not in memphis)

I am starting to wonder if this is a conspiracy. everyone knows that the american game is completely different from the international game. all the analysts say that if you can ball you can ball but there is a complete difference in how the guys from international teams compete in the nba. the special guys (dirk, rudy fernandez, manu, nocioni, gasol) can ball anywhere but these other guys(navarro, skita, vasquez etc) always end up going back over seas because they arent good enough/athletic enough to hang with the american players but look like all world players when they get into olympic/world competition. i love american ball but either we’re still better in basketball or american coaches are getting payback by not playing the international players here professionally to show their inferiority….
