If The Glove Doesn’t Fit…
While Gary Payton was busy hating on Rajon Rondo the other night on NBA TV, his agent was trying to ink The Glove to a deal in China with the CBA’s Shanxi Zhongyu.
Offered $50,000 per month, Payton was looking for double that amount.
Considered one of the greatest defenders of all time, how much would you pay for the services of a 40-year-old point guard?

Would Gary be effective at all in China? Trash talk is a major part of his game, but when the other team doesn’t know what your saying I doubt it works. I would want some kind of trash talk translation test before committing the money

China has over a billion people, so of course at least one of those billion grow to 7′6” and can still run up a court for 20 minutes a night. I am guessing that it would be damn near statistcally impossible for them not to have a guy like that. China actually has to 7 footers that can play ball.
The other 4,999,999,998 are short dudes though. The glove might be a tall center.

I’m seeing a bunch of (what seem like) english speakers in the cba right now and as i type this post i’m looking at the chinese news and seeing baron davis present his new (li- n something) shoes at a media event (i might have to cop them actually just for the sake of it)…but i’m sure he could get more somewhere in europe on the promise of fan draw alone right?
