i like jay kidd but la? heck no! i dont want starbury and i dont want kidd. farmer is improving every year. he is a about a year or two away from starting…look at devin harris in nj!!! he lit d-town for 38..i do not see farmer do that but he can be an 17 and 9 type of guy. his stats will be misleading due to kobe but if kobe was not in the equation..he could be at a tp9 level. that being said..merion for lo would not be bad if mitch really wanted to do a trade! al harrington would not be terrible either! i would have loved rj for lo if i knew the nets wanted to part with rj.he would be great with this team as a starter

why is everyone talking in a tone that jason kidd is some injury ridden, no more gas in the tank old man??? i don’t recall any of these talks when he was in new jersey, everyone thought he was one of the prime poing guards in the nba, and only after couple months all these talk??? i wonder is the image is actually true, or is this some of those horrible media market at work????

Anyone who actually watches full Dallas games (instead of following random ESPN highlights or popular trend) can see Kidd is playing much better now. He was a really poor fit with Avery’s system last season. And he is still an above average defender although he has lost a step.
Whoever started these rumors? Surely not Dallas after redesigning their offense to suit Kidd’s strengths.

The Blazers still own Stevie’s contract and is tradeable (think keith van horn’s contract)That deal makes sense for Dalles, but i dont think portland would do it. Blazers have a lot of faith in Bayless and just signed Martell to a contract extension so it doesn’t make sense to trade them. KP will hold pat unless Portland needs a drastic change, which they dont right now

The Lakers would get the raw end of that deal. LO is doing nice coming off the bench for us. He makes a second unit that much better and I , like most Laker fans will tell you they’d rather Keep LO, then trade for Kidd. Also LO is versatile and can start the fast break from the 4 spot.

The Blazers already bought out Stevie. Since then he’s been on the Rockets bench and now who knows. I’m guessing they meant Raef’s expiring contract.

I don’t see them doing this deal at all, and even though I love Kidd, I don’t see him fitting on the team. I’ve also developed enough faith in Bayless and Martell (or more specifically, the future of Bayless and Martell) that I wouldn’t want to see them get traded for a hall of fame guy who’s admittedly past his prime.

Most of these guesses seem like stabs in the dark, or an effort to pad out the length of an article, but after Kobe bitched and moaned last year about the Lakers not jumping on the chance to trade for Kidd, I could see that going down. I know if I’m the Lakers I’m practically begging Dallas to take Odom and anybody except for Kobe to get Kidd.

Kidd is still undefeated in international play, the leadership and intangibles he brings to every squad he joins is unquestioned

As the season progresses Dallas will improve as long as he puts his stamp on the Mavs

Again, he did lose a step but put him with a team of athletes and defenders and watch him work

You can hide his flaws on the right squad

@No Brain…I mean NB : Why the fuck would Team USA pick up a guy that they don’t need then? Maybe they needed his know how back in 2004 or 2006, but he was irrelevant when out on the floor in 2008.

He started each game and was generally out within 5+ minutes to get Paul and Williams who would actually create for themselves and others. They didn’t need his leadership from the bench.

Face facts, 35 is old for most NBA players and Kidd has a ton of mileage on the odometer. I’d be happy with him coming off the bench for my team to keep the second stringers playing smart, but as of today, he is not an elite player.
