Matt Bonner Does His Part To Fix The Auto Industry

After the New York Times reported that automakers sold fewer than a million new cars and trucks last month for the first time since 1993, I can understand why Matt Bonner decided to help out his hometown dealership in Concord, New Hampshire.

  1. that's whats up says:

What else would you expect from a true SCRUB?

  2. Scott says:

Thats just jokes. Matt’s a good guy. He’s like the Anit-Scalabrine, he does everything or more that Scallops does, just, u know, he’s not as much of a douche.

  3. doc says:

    why

  4. Kevin says:

Believe me, Bonner is hilarious, and maybe the most down-to-earth professional athlete you will ever meet.

  5. doc says:

Believe me, he’s a fucking bum.

  6. control says:

He’s the next Manu. He’s going to hold shit down until (if) manu gets back.

  7. doc says:

haha.I aint heard nothing that crazy since the bitch on friday talking about she look like janet jackson.

  8. TO says:

Bonner is down to earth for real..no douche.
    The Red Rocket hahahaha
(also the nickname of the streetcars in Toronto)
When he played for us in TO Man used to ride the public transit to the games.

  9. Diego says:

@ Doc: What’s your problem with him?

Bonner can play and shoot the lights out. Admittedly, I would not say he is quick or has great leaping ability (although he can rebound), but what else? He shined in high school, shined at the Univ. of Florida under Billy D.–and killed in the SEC–, and was neglected in the draft (went 2nd round maybe) but worked his way into the League. (Not to mention the guy is VERY smart–nailed close (if not) a 4.0 at Florida in a tough program (something like pre-med or engineering, I believe; I don’t quite remember).)

Spurs should have played him more in the playoffs last year.

  10. doc says:

@diego-no problem just call it how i see it.Everybody in the league was the shit in high school and college.Im talking about the league and in the league he aint shit.Am I wrong with that assesment?

  11. Diego says:

@ doc: My recollection is he was doing alright in Toronto when he was traded to SA after about his second season, but he hasn’t really previously made much of a crack in Pop’s rotation. I guess this year with Horry gone and Manu laid up, we’ll see what he has to offer–one way or the other. Lot’s of guys don’t get a fair shake early in their careers (as only 8-9 play)–e.g, both JO and Zach Randolph early in Portland–and it doesn’t mean they suck. (Not saying Bonner is nearly in JO and Zach’s league. Just examples.)

  12. doc says:

We’ll see but I just think he 10th man in a 8 man rotation.I respect ya opinion though pimp.We just got different ones right here.

  13. Diego says:

@ doc: Plus I just like the guy from his Gator days, so I’m certainly showing my bias.

  14. Aron says:

I LOVE that you guys are having a debate about Bonner!

  15. deeds says:

Sure Bonner isn’t a great player. But he’s a good role player to have on a team. He can absolutely shoot the lights out and he’s a good chemistry guy.

This commercial doesn’t surprise me one bit. I can recall a story from his Toronto days where he walked into a subway to get a sub. He requested extra meat….upon hearing the cost ($2.50) he stated “$2.50 for extra meat?!? That’s outrageous, I’ll just take a normal sub.”

  16. caribballin says:

Doc…who would you want as your 10th man on a 8 man rotation…a headcase? or just a laid back dude that knows his role…

  17. doc says:

Somebody that knows his role,I said he was a 10th man what else u want me to say,he aint gettin single digit status.

  18. Ian says:

    doc
    u r wrongggg
bonner can be in any 8 man rotation he can shoot and get boards thats way more than alot of 8th man in the league can do.
