Mike D’Antoni Wants To Suspend Stephon Marbury

Stephon MarburySteph

What is the latest chapter in the Knicks-Stephon Marbury saga? The Knicks’ brass is trying to turn Steph into the scapegoat in order to take some attention away from their current abominable roster.

Mike D’Antoni is pissed at Steph for refusing to play for the last two games, and he’s suggesting that New York’s management suspend Marbury as a result. The team approached Steph before last night’s game against the Pistons, as they were without Nate Robinson and Cuttino Mobley, asking if he’d play. But because of the way he’d been stashed at the end of the bench next to Jerome James up to that point this season, Steph refused. Good for him.

Here’s my thing. If the Knicks knew all along that they were going to throw this season into the proverbial trash can about 15 games in, then why wouldn’t they have given Marbury some burn. Is he so vile to the team that he can’t be on the floor with them at the same time? If the Knicks would have let him get in the game, maybe they could have convinced someone to take him off their hands for the second half of the season. Or, at least they would have had someone to put on a jersey when they disassembled their roster.

Good for Steph I say, why don’t they just buy him out and end the sorry state of affairs?

  2. dcom says:

how is this good??? u get payed to play. i’m all for taking a stance with the whole buyout issue, claiming that you have a contract, but he doesn’t have a leg to stand up on if he doesn’t play. thats unprofessional and plenty childish

  3. hahns says:

EXACTLY! if this season was to dump salary anyway— and the next 2 years are to dismantle the roster and start anew in 2010, who cares if steph ruins chemistry??? bc all the chemistry built in this year wont matter in 2010.

so retarded. im glad steph wont play. a big EFF you to dantoni. tries to freeze him out when he has a roster full of shit pg’s but- when hes got a 7man roster, tries to force him to play. what a douche.

  4. TJ says:

Steph is an idiot. He was playing things perfectly, but now he’s opening himself up to get suspended and not get paid. They are paying you to play and if you don’t play when asked, they don’t have to pay you.

  5. s.bucketz says:

werd id probbly do the same thing if i was in his shoes but i liked wut Q said about the whole situation…he was a lil heated nd playing injured so wen someone asked about steph he said “hes not my teamate” cuz in that situation a teamate should step up regardless of his issues wit the coach..i kno i had mad issues wit my hs coach freshman yr but wen i stepped out on the court it was me nd my boys that had been runnin together since like 3rd grade so i jus used to say fuk that nicholas cage lookin dousche on the sidelines ima do me

  6. PWeezy says:

Yo Starbury is a chump and is a disgrace to represent his own city!!!! getting paid 20 million this year and he aint doing nothing this just shows how is work ethics is…He doesn’t represent the game of basketball at all and i should bow out this year. He’s more then capable to play basketball but refuses to play i hope next time he gets on court he gets a major leg injury and never come back. You got guys like jay will and s. livingston trying to get back on court and you got a sucka like starbury not playing basketball for what it is. A question to the everybody if you made your millions already and are well off would you play for the nba for free??? or give all proceeds to charity??? give back to your community and really give back

  7. K Dizzle says:

“The team approached Steph before last night’s game against the Pistons, as they were without Nate Robinson and Cuttino Mobley, asking if he’d play. But because of the way he’d been stashed at the end of the bench next to Jerome James up to that point this season, Steph refused. Good for him.”

Really? It’s good that dude is alienatin his teammates as well now? The maturity amazes me. If Steph had any brain cells left, why would he not play and put up one of his 20 and 8 lines? Not for management, but to keep his options open and let other teams see that he can still play, instead dude shows that he still all about himself. This is the poutin ass Steph that we used to now. Wanted to play, didn’t get to play. Asked to play, sits on bench, arms crossed, lips out Steve Francis style lol. He’s like the little kid who takes his ball and goes home….except he 30

  8. Max says:

Sorry Andrew, it’s Thanksgiving, so I’m going to be nice and hold my words a bit…but no way Marbury is deserving of any sympathy in this situation. The Knicks (or any organization for that matter) weren’t going in to this year planning to blow things up this soon…they just knew they had a very fluid situation with salaries they were attempting to dump, but the team was also trying to build a solid foundation and purge the negativity of the Isaiah regime. These plans didn’t include Marbury, for good reasons).

The surprise performance of the team and some other circumstances (Harrington’s availability) allowed the Knicks to sell high very early. It’s a screwed up situation, but all I see D’Antoni doing is trying to keep his team playing hard and adapt his system to the circumstances.

Marbury had a chance to manage the situation to his advantage, and totally ***** it up. Even if Marbury is looking for no one but himself, his actions (refusing a buyout, refusing to play) are consistently self-destructive and selfish and have benefited no one. I hate even having to discuss one of the worst human beings in existence on a day we should all be thankful.

  9. D A says:

When Q-Rich is beat up, playing through injuries, Steph should have dropped his pride and took one for his teammates. Instead he stuck it to them a la 4th grade little boy style. Brutal.

  10. analord says:

someone please do something to end this marbury saga. It’s getting more and more confusing by the day. The way both parties handled the situation turn it into a distraction. Sooner or later this whole steph vs. the Knicks soap opera will become the laughing stock for the season… and for someone like me who’s enjoyed Steph’s game on the court since his rookie year, this whole thing has been really hard to watch…

  11. Big Freeze says:

At the end of the day, it should be about playing basketball. People would kill to be in the same position as Steph, and he was giving a second chance, but instead of being a man about the situation and stepping up to help his teammates, Steph is being a bitch and choosing to let pride fuck his career and his teammates. Do us all a favor Steph, go hang yourself with some Starbury shoelaces.

  12. ERIC says:

This whole situation is really a shame to watch as a New Yorker, a Knicks fan, and a Marbury-supporter.

Marbury is being stubborn trying to prove his point and I understand his refusal to play after coming into training camp in the best shape and being told “you are going to be in the Injured Reserve behind 3 PGs you are clearly better than.”

However, he is a New Yorker, and, in addition to that pride of playing for your hometown team, he would have crazy-inflated #’s in D’Antoni’s system which would benefit the team (having an All-Star caliber player) and himself (putting up nice stats for his next team/contract.)

Come on Steph, lace em up and show everyone you still got it.

  13. yoda says:

he’s paid to play, he must play. simple as that. its not they’ve told him to play barefooted on broken glass.

  14. haslem says:

so far Donnie Walsh not realllyyyy doing that much better than Isiah. this is yet another “well handled” situation by the Knicks. oh and I know is NY but do we care this much about any other shitty team?

  15. ed says:

Is he so vile to the team that he can’t be on the floor with them at the same time? yes he is, unless its an emergency. which last night was and the people who are paying him over 20mill this year asked him to play and he refused. steph deserves all the hate he gets.

  16. Jim says:

Seriously, good for him? Good for him as in he could be violating his guaranteed contract, I guess. I assume if Monta “Actually valuable to his team” Ellis could get his K messed with because he COULDN’T play after violating his K, I assume Steph could be looking at the same thing. Guaranteed K means nothing if you refuse to perform. Dear Dolan-put down the guitar, call a lawyer besides the one who told you to take the case to trial.

  17. yoda says:

btw. this could lead to some new rule, where team in situation like this can cancel players contract, without needing to pay him at all. i mean, in any business if boss ask you to do something, that you are supposed to do by your contract, you do it. if you refuse, you’ll get fired and you won’t get any money. simple as that.

  18. Diallo says:

“I hate even having to discuss one of the worst human beings in existence on a day we should all be thankful.”

One of the worst human beings in existence? Your hyperbole is outstanding. Bravo! Dan Dierdorf would like to buy you a drink.

  19. wanabballer says:

I think its about time to throw away Marburys’s autograph I got once he played in PHX since its worth less than ___(insert dis here)___

  20. Kermit The Washington says:

What do you mean “Good for him”?

Steph is so childish. This is exactly what a little kid would do. “You guys never pick me and now that your players are hurt you wanna let me play cause I have the only basketball”. Earn your money, you big baby!

*side note*…Kenyon Martin’s tattoo on his neck is the WORST tattoo I’ve ever seen! I get the concept, but no one’s lips are THAT DANG BIG!! It should’ve been a LOT smaller than that

  21. Kobeef says:

    “Good for him”

As tens of thoudsands of US citizens are bracing for christmas as part of the newly unemployed we have here a person who earns more per year than 99.99% of the population to play a game and refuses to do his job.

Yah, good for steph, we are all right there behind him….in the line to kick his ass back to reality.

  22. Diallo says:

What about the Knick’s responsibilities? At the beginning of the season they had an employee that was willing to work, able to work, willing to accept a reduced role at work, didn’t want to be a distraction at work, yet they refused to use him. Keep in mind that this employee is a very valuable asset to the company, yet he was not utilized. And no viable reason was given for the underutilization.

Imagine IBM not using one of their top 2 or 3 salespeople on a new $150 million account. Would that make any sense? Wouldn’t IBM’s stockholders go apeshit if they knew that IBM wasn’t utilizing ALL of their assets to close a huge deal? There is plenty of blame to go around and Steph shouldn’t be receiving all of it.

  23. Bob Lee says:

Steph’s ghetto attitude really has to go. I don’t any sympathy for his uneducated, closed-minded, ghetto ass. Peace.

  24. George W Kush Sr says:

    Good for Steph

This is a bitch move by D’Antoni

Seems like Walsh and D’Antoni aint working well together, they both have different agendas.

Mike D, after benching Marbury and leading him on to believe he’d get play time after the preseason, has absolutely no right to say anything. And I believe Steph’s side of the Story, he wasnt asked if he would play, his coach is playing games with him, cuz D’Antoni had no business asking Steph if he’d play, he just has to call his number, but he didnt, he wanted a distraction, a scapegoat

  25. JCARR says:

Immature on both sides, marbury not wanting to play and the knicks still holding onto him, for God knows what reason.

MESSAGE TO THE KNICKS—>Get rid of marbury and get used to loosing.

  26. Ashlov says:

Contract or not, after the way he was publicly alienated by Walsh and D’Antoni, I don’t blame him for not wanting to lace up.

Yes, he’s contractually obligated to perform, and he should be suspended. But at the same time, I don’t blame the guy for not wanting to play. If the Knicks had the guards to play with, he’d be back to square one all over again. Based on that alone, fuck D’Antoni and his whiny ass.

  27. 1SKILLZ says:

D’Antoni shouldn’t have alienated Marbury over the summer and at the beginning of the season… but Marbury is a selfish remnant of the ZekeKnicks. The fact that Q-Rich had to call him out after the game and say that he doesn’t even consider Marbury a teammate anymore sums it up. He’s the current definition of “locker room cancer.”

  28. lax inc. says:

yall are trippen..im tired of hearing “oh steph is abandoning his teammates bla bla bla..i didnt hear none of his teammates sayin anything on stephs behalf when d’antoni kept him from playin early on…and why the hell would d’antoni give a dayum in the first place..it aint like they really tryna win NOW..they proved that when they traded they best 2 players outside steph…i really dont like steph that much…actually none at all..but i think he gettin a lil too much heat 4 dis

  29. Max says:

Could someone please provide evidence that D’Antoni “led on” Marbury and led him to believe he would play in the regular season? Preseason minutes don’t count…and it’s the coach’s right after seeing the team dynamic in the preseason to determine what the best roster will be for the long term, in terms of not only playing ability, but team morale.

It’s unbelievable that people are defending Marbury. You’re an employee, and no one owes you anything. That’s the way it works in the real world. The IBM top sales producer thing doesn’t fly, because a salesperson can work on his own…and the $150 million deal is not happening this year (no one thinks Marbury can help the Knicks win a championship this year or any year) — it’s two years from now, when Marbury is gone.

The better analogy is trying to rebuild a company after years of disastrous results, and removing all the cancerous elements — including the salesperson who thinks of himself as a star, and who destroys company morale and thinks only of himself. You sacrifice short term earnings in order to build something that will have greater earnings power down the road, and that will be attractive to future hires.

Marbury is part of a *team*, and his teammates need to be on board with him and trust he can make them better. That trust has clearly not been there from the beginning, and Marbury needs to go away as a result.

If the NY Knicks organization has been wrong about him, then Marbury should prove them wrong. But he’s taken the worst possible route for himself and for the team…again proving the type of person he really is.

Bob Lee — peace and happy thanksgiving. You said it best.

  30. sucka says:

no use arguing with dime and slam magazine about how stupid marbury is, even if its all too clear to everyone else. since day one, both dime and slam have been groveling at marbury’s feet. for some reason they still think he’s the prima donna NYC HS pg, and not the selfish, washed-up failure he is in the NBA today.

  31. NYCtilTheyBuryMe says:

    This about sums it up:

“I don’t consider him my teammate, so, I mean, whatever,” Quentin Richardson said. “He hasn’t played with us all year, he doesn’t want to play with us. He’s expressed that a second time, so whatever. I don’t look at him as a teammate because teammates don’t do that. Regardless of what you have going on with the organization or what you have going on with your coach or whatever, you’re not going to allow your teammates to be left out there the way we were left out there . . . Regardless of how you’re trying to stick it to whoever. At the end of the day, we’re getting left out there and we’re shorthanded, people are hurt and people are still playing. Chris is banged up pretty bad. He’s got an ankle injury and his back is messed up pretty bad and he’s playing. But I mean, once again, I don’t really pay any attention to it because I don’t look at him as a teammate anyway.”

I am so tired of hearing this definition of Marbury as a “scapegoat” or “sympathetic figure.” I have no sympathy whatsoever for Steph. He has been the downfall of this Knicks franchise since the day he got here.

-Insubordination with THREE different coaches. That’s on HIM not the coach.

-Last season he walked out on his teammates on their November west coast roadtrip.

-This season he REFUSES to play when his team is short on healthy players.

-He demanded a trade out of Minnesota because he couldn’t handle being the second option behind KG.

He is the Terrell Owens of basketball, a selfish player, only concerned about himself, poisoning his team with his selfish distractions and me-first mentality.

  32. johnny says:

Steph is wrong. He should get docked for those 2 games.
If the rules allow it, they should dock him more.

  33. WITNESS says:

WTF!!!!!! Y ALLA DA HATE on STEPH!!!!! The knnicks and mike ‘D’uesch ANTONI said at the begginnin that steph was not in the plans and now all of a sudden they want him to play……. THEY EMBARASSED THE GUY at the beginning of the year by DNP coaches decision and NOW they want him to play FUCK THAT…….. suppose he goes out and play ( for a team that already doesent like/want him around) AND BLOWS A FUCKIN ACL……COME ON PEOPLE DONT THINK WITH YOUR ASSES USE YOUR BRAINS IF U WERE IN THAT SITUATION

  34. original2k9 says:

B**ch move by d’antoni, nuff said

  35. hadoken says:

“All I have in this world is my balls and my word and I don’t break them for no one…”

the mustache said he didn’t want steph to play, so steph is giving you what you wanted. don’t come back like a desperate, two-faced bitch when your all of a sudden you’re shorthanded. you reap what you sow, mustache, now deal with it. if you’re so desperate for players, why dont you play jerome james? everyone knows steph has an ego but so does everyone else who gets paid like he’s getting paid. blame management because it’s not steph’s fault the knicks are in this position. i find it hilarious how people are so quick to bash on the player when management was the one to come out and draw the initial “line in the sand” and say they didn’t want him to play. now steph is supposed to be your puppet and play? come on. enjoy the next 2 years knicks because it’s only going to get worse…

  36. hadoken says:

“I never fucked anybody over in my life didn’t have it coming to them. You got that? All I have in this world is my balls and my word and I don’t break them for no one. Do you understand? That piece of shit up there, I never liked him, I never trusted him. For all I know he had me set up and had my friend Angel Fernandez killed. But that’s history. I’m here, he’s not. Do you wanna go on with me, you say it. You don’t, then you make a move.”

  37. Jeffco says:

man im starting to like marbury more and more everyday
    haha

  38. da bulls says:

The knicks have been wasting money on buyouts for years and now when you have the biggest cancer in years to holding on the hardest to it. For what? Let him go and move on. whats the difference between 15mil and 20mil when you are already in the hole, that 5mil aint gon make a difference. Give steph his 20mil and move on in a positive direction. And im with steph fuck them. When i did everything there is to play, be a good teammate, came in great shape then you gon screw me and not play me. well fuck you, im not helping you out when you need me and its convenient.

  39. George W Kush Sr says:

This situation reminds me of when George Costanza got caught running away from a mob of old people, while carrying his ‘handicap assistance mobile’ by his boss. They wanted him out so much that they’d board up his office so that he couldn’t report for work, trying to get him to quit. But the sneaky bastard crawled through the vents to get in his office, lol.

Only difference is, in that episode of Seinfeld, the boss didn’t turn back around and ask Costanza to join the team again because of turbulent times. Our beloved Costanza character would have milked the situation had he been asked.

Because this is happening to Marbury and not Costanza, and because Marbury has so many haters, of course he’s the bad guy in all this. bullshit.

  40. weng santos says:

I’m kinda conflicted. I hate what the Knicks are doing to Steph, and I empathize with how quiet he’s been and doing the waiting game. But Steph is still a professional player and thus must play when called upon.

I wish that Steph just stepped onto that court when asked and then dropped 30 and 10 assists. He could’ve done it, and the world would know how good he still is. I believe that playing well would be a better way of showing up the organization that is holding his career hostage.

  41. Lee says:

WOW … $20 Million and that wont even make someone do there job ???? And people think Steph did the right thing ?????

  42. George W Kush Sr says:

I think Steph should announce that he wants to play now, that way if the Knicks suspend him, it’ll somehow make sens to Mike D’Antoni.

  43. HeadKicker B says:

Stephon is getting paid to “work” for the Knicks. As long as he is cashing his checks (he is) he needs to do what his boss (Coach D) asks him to do. As a Knick fan I follow whats going on closely and this is my interpretation: Stephon needs to get over himself. He has every right to be upset that he was not playing and that the Knicks are going in another direction that he is not a part of. However, as a PROFESSIONAL, he needs to quit pouting and do what he is asked to do by his coach. As long as he is collecting his paychecks he needs to play when the coach wants him to play. Instead of using this playing time as an opportunity to shine he exposed his true colors: spoiled, delusional, and selfish. The Knicks now have the right to suspend him without pay for his refusal to play.

  44. QuEsT??? says:

good for steph, i would have done the same thing.

  45. witness says:

fuck MIKE ‘D’eushce ANTONI ………….. they embarass steph at the beginnin of the year and not play him and tell him they are going in a different direction so what the fuck is all of the fuss about…..steph aint no idiot and most of u are jack asses who hate on steph….y shuld steph suit up play and risk injury( a la TORN ACL or s houlder tear etc) for a team that doesnt give a fuck about him……they need to trade him or pay him the rest of his 21 mill and move on…… and q rich that bum hates on steph in the media cuz steph doesnt wanna play…why didnt he attack d’antoni in the media when he benched stef and didnt allow the best playa on the team to play……i dont blame steph and most of u guys need to back off the guy and hate D’ANTONI and the knicks front office

  46. biggeddy says:

Marbury is a fucking assclown. I agree that his situation could’ve been handled differently with the knicks, but he is trying to get his entire contract in a buy out agreement. He says that is the amount he is owed and he won’t take any less. Great! Well, guess what, while you are under contract, you are paid to do whatever your boss tells you to do. If that means sitting around in a suit, you do it. Riding a stationary bike? Do it! Play a fucking basketball game? Do it! Marbury is refusing to listen to his boss and should be suspended, without pay.
If any of us disrespect our bosses the way Marbury has, we would have been fired.

  47. Eduardo says:

Man, I’m almost speechless with this situation…Hundreds of guys would do almost everything to play on a nba court, and then you have this guy refusing to play…Like Dime posted before, Steph where’s ya heart?I thought this guy had some basketball in his heart, but he doesn’t, that’s a shame..Like Q-Rich said he doesn’t understand the meaning of teammate, he may have his issues with the coach and the front office, but he is refusing to help his team, his friends. Shame on you Steph. It’s bizness but c’mon man…

  48. 2 Easy says:

This rite here is a case of both sides havin just cause but their both wrong. Knicks management should have never come out and pubilicy say they wanted to trade or get rid of Steph as bad a teammate as he is thats bad politics, if u have someone whose already the bad guy dont take the emphasis off of him being bad to you. Secondly they should have already bought Steph out, their payin him his money anyway might as well jus finish and let him leave because he’s not gonna take any less than he’s owed and I kno not one of us would. Third knowin they were gonna make these trades to make their team worse for 10′ they should better prepared. Havin all this in mind askin Step to play again is like dumpin ur girl then goin back to her when u really need to get off, disrepectful. Now Im not sayin Steph is the innocent one here because he should play because he’s in shape and required to by his contract, I jus understand y he didnt and cant really hate on him too much for it. In regards to Q rich, ya Marbury isnt their teammate but he hasnt been since he left Phoenix last year so that shouldnt be a surprise and quite frankly if he wanted Steph’s help he shoulda said Steph should play. You cant expect somethin for nothin, this “team” a term to be used loosely with the Knicks exemplifies whats wrong wit sports. Get little Nate and David Lee outta there before its too late for them, PLEASE GOD

  49. Ansonious says:

All I have to say is DAMN! anyone makes this far down on the page I owe you a cookie. I’m out like eating fish sticks on Thanksgiving peace!

  50. witness says:

“steph aint no idiot and most of u are jack asses who hate on steph….y shuld steph suit up play and risk injury( a la TORN ACL or s houlder tear etc) for a team that doesnt give a fuck about him”

After readin my own jackass post, I have come to the realization that gettin paid 20 milly is a good reason to play when called upon. please ignore my ignorant postings

    witness aka Stephon

  51. Billy Sunday says:

Good for steph. the knicks threw away their next two seasons for someone that they might not get. i wouldnt want to play for a team thats cans a season

  52. dagwaller says:

Sheesh. Terrible article. I’m not going to go on and on about what a huge piece of sh*t Steph is (and he IS a huge piece, make no mistake about it), but I just want to quickly point out the flawed logic in the author’s argument. You say, “Good for him,” because…the team won’t give him any play time? And then they offer him play time, and he refuses, so…”Good for him”?!?!?!?!??!

    WTF. Only in America.

  53. Wouldn'tyouliketoknow says:

So if a dude said you can’t work here then ask you to come through for the holidays most of ya dudes gonna suck dick and take the job.

  54. BxBaller says:

I totally agree with Steph. I really wonder how people (the same people mind you) who didn’t want Steph to be part of the team are bitching and complaining about him not playing. Now that he is NEEDED, they want to play him. F D’Andummy and the Knicks. Quentin Richardson is bitching aboout Steph not being a teammate, but where was Q and the rest of the team when Steph was blindsided with the benching at the beginning of the season. Nobody had his back then, now they expect him to have his back now. Sorry but it doesn’t work that way.
D’Andummy said that they was using this year to “develop young players” however, Mardy Collins & Crawford are gone, Gallinari & Nate are hurt, so what young players are they going to develop now? Besides all of the roster won’t be here in two years, so basically what are the Knicks trying to develop? (Besides Chandler). The Knicks are a mess and are still losing and now they are STILL trying to blame Steph even though he isn’t playing. Let’s see who they blame when Steph isn’t there anymore.

  55. Kudabeen says:

If you have to ask a player that you are paying if he wants to play…That is a clear indicator that the organization is incompetent.

As it was stated…You play games to embarrass him, don’t really talk to him before hand, then you ask him to swallow his pride again and submit to your wishes…please.

They are going to do whatever they can to recoup money or agitate him to violate terms in his contract.

I can’t really stick up for Steph in full, because he has been a Grade A A-hole, but Knicks can’t toy with him and then expect him to just take it in stride.

  56. Phileus says:

Marbury always says things like “they signed the contract, they have to pay me,” which is why he’s pressing for the rest of his money from the bankrupt company that made his Starbury gear, and which is why he’s not thinking about a buyout.

So if he really believes in contracts, then he should do what he signed on the dotted, $120 million dollar line to do.

  57. dagwaller says:

Just judging from the few posts since mine, people seem to fail to grasp the concept of “employee”.

I always post on subjects about Steph about how it would be best for everyone involved if he would just accept a buyout. The same people going to bat for him now (probably) are the ones that say things like, “It’s a guaranteed contract bro, why would he take any less money?!” That’s fine, I guess, if laziness and being selfish is your thing.

But to those people and all the rest, I would say that Steph is an employee. He’s getting paid to work. If he doesn’t like the work, he should opt out of his contract. What if Don Nelson wanted him to play center or something? Would he say no to that, too?

Him still cashing the paychecks is the same as him accepting the Knicks front office as legit. If he was a “man”, if he didn’t respect the organization (which he clearly doesn’t), he would just accept a buyout.

  58. smokez4Dayz says:

To you non-nyers: Steph was NEVER offered playing time, thats the BS that D’antoni is telling everyone. QRICH was told BEFORE GAME 1 that Marbury wouldn’t play. HE TOLD HIS TEAMMATES, but didn’t tell Marbury. QRICH is a little girl, he holds information and creates division on the team. What kind of teammate is QRICH? If any NBA fan knows that Marbury can help you win, regardless of attitude, how the hell QRICH,D’ANTONI and the Knicks didn’t think they needed him. How come QRICH didn’t say anything the FIRST 15 GAMES ABOUT MARBURY PLAYING? Smells like QRICH. In the hood, thats being a faggot, now you NEED Marbury, so you want him to play? Get the fuck outta here! QRICH is pussy, and thats why the CELTICS shit on us, because he’s a loser. You all diss Marbury for Handling BUSINESS? Why when the team was at full strength, you didn’t need me, now when we have no TEAM, you want me to play? Please, its a ploy. If he accepts that, then get benched again, he won’t get released in time to join a roster. Knicks fans are amusing, when we get the Wizards coach fired for beating them twice, I never heard we need Marbury, now you repeating what you read, and you talking all this paid to play garbage. A.Walker, J.Tinsley, R.Lafrentz: Players paid to stay away from the team they are on. How come no one is talking about them? When one of you are negotiating a 20 million dollar deal, I’ll listen to what any of you have to say. D’antoni is a liar.

Smokez: “I am from the hood. Q Rich bad, Steph good. You guys know nothing about this because you don’t have 20 million dollar contracts (but I do!). I wish I was Steph because then I would be paid lots of money to do nothing - just like other ‘businessmen’!”

    Hahahaahahahahahaha

ALL I COULD HEAR PLAYING STEPH IS TI FT RIAHNAH “LIVE YOUR LIFE”…….”AYE…AYE…AYE”…..”KEEP GETTING YOUR PAPER”

Steph should help himself by getting out there and lighting it up. Play like he is out of his mind. Show himself, the rest of the league, and the Knicks that they are making a mistake (if they really are). This is the best way to get out of town. Then he will perhaps have some real trade value at that point and maybe some kind of deal with Miami could take place. Get Marion to NY and Steph and possibly Curry to Miami and let everyone get in on with it.

New York is getting so much attention for all the wrong reasons year after year it would seem that they would want to just move on. What is the point of keeping this saga going on and on? This doesn’t make this environment very appealing for Lebron, Bosh, or any other free agent in his right mind. Mgmt needs to get this over with as quickly as possible.

Yo after reading all these posts about Steph I have to say it’s a sad time in the NBA & Knicks Organization! 1st of all we’re talking about a business so all the talk about how Steph feels is pointless. He doesn’t get paid to make decisions according to his emotions, he gets paid to play basketball case closed! Him taking the stand on the way he’s being treated by the Coach’s refusal to play him then asking him to play when the team needs help is completely childish & foolish! The only one who really gets hurt in this soap opera is Steph, because his character & reputation is going down the drain every damn day! How on earth did he ever think that pulling another one of his selfish & ignorant routines in his own home town would be good for his professional career??? Somebody pleeease wake his ass up a.s.a.p!!!

I really do feel sad for this guy, because here’s the reality of the situation..the bosses on all levels of the NBA is looking at him like he’s just another ungrateful niggah from the ghetto who only played ball all his life to make it out of the hood. He doesn’t have any real education so let’s get him caught up in some bull-shyt while we take his money & ruin his reputation. He doesn’t take care of his family or give them opportunities, because most of them are still struggling in life. His own cousin Jamel Thomas just released a book THE BEAUTIFUL STRUGGLE that validates their personal issues & the selfish attitudes among their family members. Steph doesn’t even play for the love of the game only for the money soooo…by the time the smoke clears he’ll be known as 1 of the biggest idiots in the history of professional sports!

P.S. To all the athletes on every level & every age group out there…this is what happens when you allow money to control your mind & the goodness in your heart. It’s the root of all evil, especially when you don’t understand how to utilize it & don’t ever forget that or it will destroy your life!

I hate my boss at work with a passion, but I still go everyday and do my job because I get paid to do it. I make $15 an hour and I’m not complaining. Marbury should do the same.
