NBA Match Game, 11.12
Greg Oden (photo. Mannion)Five matchups to watch on Wednesday’s NBA schedule…
Atlanta @ Boston: Al Horford vs. KG
After shutting down Chris Bosh in the C’s most impressive win this season, Garnett faces a red-hot Horford, who dropped 27 points, 17 boards and six blocks last night on the Bulls. As we saw in last year’s playoffs, Horford isn’t going to be intimidated by anything on this big stage. Look for the Hawks to try and get him established early and often.
(NBA League Pass, 7:30 p.m. EST)
New York @ Memphis: Jamal Crawford vs. O.J. Mayo
Gunning for his third straight 30-point game, O.J. has a favorable matchup and ample opportunity. The Knicks are giving up 103 points per game (26th in the League), and Crawford isn’t exactly Scottie Pippen when it comes to keeping his man off the scoreboard.
(NBA League Pass, 8 p.m. EST)
Portland @ Miami: Greg Oden vs. The Floor, Other People’s Feet, Contact, The Elements…
The big man is back, expected to come off the bench tonight and get in some work against the likes of Udonis Haslem and Joel Anthony. Let’s just make it through one game before anything else. Baby steps, people. Baby steps.
(ESPN, 8 p.m. EST)
L.A. Lakers @ New Orleans: Kobe Bryant vs. James Posey
In their first meeting since the ‘08 Finals, Kobe gets his first chance at sorta-revenge. Kobe has “only” one 30-point game on his ledger so far this season, but I think he’ll be looking to get his second one here. Apologies for whatever happens to Rasual Butler in the crossfire.
(NBA League Pass, 8 p.m. EST)
Houston @ Phoenix: Yao Ming vs. Shaquille O’Neal
Once upon a time, this would have been a huge deal. I haven’t checked the papers yet, but I’m sure Shaq had one of his “I’m the Shogun, he’s the pupil, he’ll get the torch when Shaq Miagi is ready” quotes ready for this one.

Wait…did Shaq actually say that “Shaq Miagi” line? If he did, as much as I can’t stand him, that’s the funniest thing he’s ever said. Oh and the most RACIST! haha

For the last year and half its been like, “lets let him get healthy first, …”, whatever, lets say Greg Oden is a Kwame Brown type bust, would Durant had been the right pick for them? I dont think so.
I think they should have picked Horford. He’s turning out to be a monster.
So if the Blazers would have picked Durant, they’d have a even bigger logjam at the 3 spot. They were pretty much destined to get fucked in that draft.
Management should now always trade their #1 picks, ALWAYS.

Management should always trade the first pick? so the bulls should have just traded rose and kept kirk hinrich’s broke, slumping ass? yeah right. rose is killin it right now and hinrich needs to go look for a job. no one could have predicted that oden was made of glass. then again its not like theres still 70+ more games in the season to play.
