Quentin Richardson Is Curious
While all the initial talk in the office this morning surrounded a Post-it note that read, “Stephen Curry Is God,” the next topic of conversation was the resurgence of the great Celtics/Knicks rivalry.
After Boston beat New York last night, Quentin Richardson had some, shall we say, choice words for the defending champs:
“I think a few of those guys know they can’t just say anything to us,” said Richardson. “I’m just real curious to see what those guys will be saying if we weren’t in a basketball league, and didn’t have referees. I mean it wouldn’t be the same story. I mean they are the world champions and rah-rah-rah, but the tough part I don’t factor. I come from a neighborhood where you can say what you want to say, but ’til you do something, it don’t mean nothing. Some of those guys are happy to get a ring, but you ain’t been in the league long enough to talk to people like that. I don’t have a lot of respect for that. Like I said, I’d be curious to hear what they have to say in a different setting, I’d be very curious to see that.”
With the Knicks playing better than expected, it’s definitely possible that if New York makes it to the playoffs as a seven or eight seed, they’ll have to face the Celtics in the first round.

And to run, you need to defend well, the Knicks can’t defend to save their lifes … In the regular season it could be ok, but in the playoffs against the Celtics that’s a sweep.
About the trash talking, all Q needs to do is play. If you play well, put some 3 pointers, beat your man off the drible you have the right to trash talk a lot. The Celtics are playing very well, they are the champs, and beating teams why they can’t talk trash? The best answer is to win the game, if you do that, the other team has nothing else to say.

What was tough about it was that almost after losing his life he was ready for the season less than 2 months later. Get your shit straight.
As far as basketball goes Paul Pierce has been one of the toughest guys in the league since he entered it, his style of play speaks that, period.
Richardson started this whole thing last year by chirping to the papers that the Celtics were not all that. The Celtics then pounded them by 40 plus on national TV. The Celtics went on to win 66 games last season and WIN THE CHAMPIONSHIP. They play harder and more together than any Knick team has since 1999 so enough with taking the blame off of the Knicks.
What the Knicks are proving right now is that they can actually be a decent team as currently put together by playing hard and together instead of playing like a bunch of dogs like MOST of them had been doing the past few seasons.
You get respect in the league by winning or having the reputation for willing to do anything to help your team win within the rules of the game, Richardson has done neither.

Celtics are a championship team, and the Knicks have a long way to go to even be a playoff team that can win a game. Q is just repeating what everyone else is finding this year, though — there’s been a stratospheric jump in the douchebag factor of the C’s, above and beyond what winning a championship entitles you to do. Only RayRay seems immune…clowns like Powe and Perkins are strutting like they’re Wilt in his prime, and even Scalabrine is preening. Ugh.

by playoff time the Knicks will be playing better defense and they would have better stamina playing the style they play. Yeah they lost but they have showed tremendous improvement from last year. Many say they played teams without that teams best player but aren’t the Knicks playing without their best player in Stephon Marbury? Q’s right, other than Pierce, Garnett and Allen; no other Celtic should be talking at all. Does Leon Powe really get the calls he’s been getting if he’s on another team?

Stop it with the “leon Powe gets star calls for playing on the Celtics” nonsense; he gets calls because he is pure hustle and only attacks the basket (i can’t remember ever seeing Powe try even a 12 footer, he always attacks) which gets you to the line. It was great when Phil whined about that ish and no one even told him that his entire frontcourt and Kobe were jacking from to far away, scared shitless of KG (especially Pau in the 2nd half of the games in that series).
