Shane Battier in; T-Mac out
T-Mac (photo. Marc Morrison)Bring on the doomsday cynics, because tonight T-Mac will miss his first game of the season (Rockets vs. Pacers, 8:30 p.m. EST) due to soreness in his left knee. McGrady has been bothered by knee and shoulder pain all season following surgery on both body parts over the summer, and in the Rockets’ win over Miami on Monday, the team trainer broke out Mac’s customized high chair that protects his historically problematic back. In other words, this likely won’t be The Lifeguard’s last DNP.
Meanwhile, Shane Battier will make his season debut tonight after missing Houston’s first 15 games with an ankle injury. While Battier isn’t expected to play big minutes, we’ll finally get to see the vaunted Battier/Ron Artest perimeter defensive unit on the floor for Houston. Unfortunately, my guys Danny Granger and Marquis Daniels draw the honor of being the first guard/forward combo to feel the wrath.

I am cool with that. Hey it’s early. So I am all for dude doing like Shaq and missing some games and playing in others. Whatever they have to do to keep him healthy come playoff time is what really matters.
Plus D wise and enough offense wise they still should be able to do alright with who they have.
Not like T been lighting it up this year so far. So pretty much it’s a great thing to sit his &%$ down and make sure he feels great come time for it to count.
