Shaq clobbers Rodney Stuckey
We told you this morning in Smack about Shaq getting ejected when he clobbered Rodney Stuckey on a drive to the bucket. While we thought the foul really wasn’t that bad, we thought you could be could judge.

Sam I Am says:
I mean it kinda looks like a legit attempt for a block…
But DAMN man he got raped in mid air.
I would have ejected him too…cause if not there would be bad blood on the floor and I know the Suns have used up all of their Ben-Gay

that’s so not a flagrant 2, it’s the law of physic

fallinup says:
Stuckey’s faced bounced. Dayum!
He did make a play on the ball…but also hit his arms which threw his face into the floor. It wasn’t deliberate…it’s just that Shaq is a friggin monster.

Kobeef says:
Funny that nobody went after Shaq after this hard foul - any other player and somebody would have got in his face for slamming his team-mate. You can see Detroit players talking to Shaq but nobody has the guts to go after him….still.

Kwame was saying something…but he said it behind Sheed..and with a nice demeanor.

I will say this…I think it was a cheap shot…and its not like he ran into a brick wall…cause that brick wall is still moving forward in motion. If Shaq were standing still and moved his arms like that…ok…put not when he’s running like a linebacker at the dude. Plus the Stuckey flip made it look insane…
November 17th, 2008 at 11:19 am
Eazzy Yi says:
flagrant one
i think it was also, because of the brawl the other night
just to be on the safe side, had it happened again with different refs, the outcome would of been the same
but it wasnt worthy of an ejection

rban says:
Listen Shaq knows how big he is, hes been in the game for years, you cant be runnin at someone in mid air thats 4 times smaller then you its not gonna end well, and Shaq was frusturated in the post befoe that from getting pushed in shoved, well deserved ejection.
November 17th, 2008 at 11:22 am
N-Truh-Kit says:
i’ve seen harder fouls than that and a player doesn’t get ejected. yea, it was a hard foul, and of course its going to be even harder considering how big shaq is. it’s a physical game, if this was back in the Bad Boys days he wouldn’t have gotten ejected. but oh well, it’s the refs call. just glad Stuckey was ok, Shaq didn’t try to intentionally hurt him

Yall trippin’ if that wasn’t a flagrant 2. I don’t care if it wasn’t on purpose. Shaq better be cool cause he know how we get down in Detroit. Can anyone say Brawl at the Palace Part Deux. lol

Kobeef:
I was laughing at the same thing. Sheed barely had anything to say and Kwame was kinda laughing…It was a good play and a good call on the Ref. Suns still got the W. Rodney did what few other guards in the league dare to do in going strong when Shaq is down low. Shaq makes it known that he doesn’t give up dunks and will put you on your @$$. It’s BBall. He was kicked out and it should end there. Now if the league tries to suspend him or anything extra that would be unnecessary…

Prof. TX says:
Players will keep doing this so long as Stern keeps the ‘continuation rule.’ If a player can keep playing and try to score for 1-2 seconds after the whistle then the guy committing the foul has to be sure that the shot won’t happen. You used to be able to foul to stop a shot, now you have to foul and pin both their arms so they don’t keep playing. This means more mid-air tackle/holds and more flagrant fouls and injuries.

@ YOUNGFED
You say no one acted up because they were in the D, and we know how it goes down in the D. Last time I saw the Brawl at the palace, the only guys FROM rock city that tried to take part in the brawl (2 fat white guys in beer hats) got completely one timed by RonRon? everyone else just tried to throw beer. Damn. Thats Gangsta. No wonder shaq was so s..s…s..scared.

That’s an ejection alright. Shad might have contested him with the intention to block him but come on…it doesn’t take a genius to figure out the little guy was going to go down hard!! I’m betting shaq knew this too….

R Dub says:
Shaq is such a coward….instead of tryin to actually block the shot he fouls guys who can leap really hard so there is no chance of him gettin put on a poster! He has too much pride and has no nuts…funny how shaq and vince have a gentleman’s agreement not to dunk on each other…I hope someone catches shaq soon in a game!

Horrible habit for Shaq. He doesn’t know how to keep is arms straight up. He always swings violently to block the shot. Thats why he’s always in foul trouble!

why didnt sheed that like to talk so much shit get in shaqs face
im not talking about fightin cuz that bein a punk im talking about steppin up for a teammate. i bet if a 5′6 white dude did that shit sheed would be all over him.
btw i hate shaq i think hes the dumbest player in the history of the league and he had to be ejected.
November 17th, 2008 at 12:55 pm
A-Slam says:
should have been flagrant one, shaq had no intention of hurtin the young fella. @ ian, top ten all time scoring list doesn’t spell dumb, add in three finals mvp’s with that. I bet you also think Wilt is dumb
November 17th, 2008 at 1:05 pm
A-Slam says:
also if you’re going baseline and you have shaq waiting for you it’s not rocket science, might as well expect a hard-earned trip the free throw line, or have you shit stuffed into the crowd, or be knocked down on your ass.
November 17th, 2008 at 1:14 pm
Ian says:
aslam for real u think that dumb are bad players and smart are good players?
so i guess karl malone is a rocket scientist
have u heard the man talk the way he looks
November 17th, 2008 at 1:41 pm

well i thought u meant smart as in their basketball IQ, in that case, yes shaq isn’t the sharpest tool in the shed lol

not basketball iq man
the dumbest would be kwame brown
November 17th, 2008 at 2:10 pm
it is i says:
what dramatics, if he was really as hurt as he seemed to be in the first place, he wudda stayed down, and been down for much much longer, and never bounced up actin like nothin happened, the dude from atlanta (flip murray) took a harder hit from, i forget who, howard was it a week or so back, and he got up, if he wudda been a lil B*tch, and wanted pity he wudda stayed down like stuckey just did, and got a f-2 foul. Stuckey watchin boston to much, DRAMATIC!! lookin at u rajon, and pierce.
November 17th, 2008 at 2:24 pm
George W Kush Sr says:
Didn’t look intentional. Lets be serious, if Shaq was to do something intentionnaly, in mid air like that, there would be no getting back up for Stuckey.
But it was just a lil too hard how it happened. Atleast Stuckey’s ok.

seriously how can you hate shaq? thats like saying you hate big bird or something..you cant..dude has always been one of the most likeable people..not just ball players..but people around..i think the league is really gonna miss him and his hilariousness when hes gone..
November 17th, 2008 at 3:04 pm
yoda says:
i dont know why is such big deal what shaq did. he didnt tried to hurt him, he had hands on ball first, so its not like he wanted to crush stuckey. as for shaq being big and he has to watch out how he plays against smaller players: smaller players, you watch what are you doing when you go against shaq. imo, shaq should have gotten foul and thats it. no ejection. he hit ball, not player.
November 17th, 2008 at 3:23 pm
Drink the Haterade (KB24 Chip 09) says:
The way I saw was that Stuckey drove to the hoop and Shaq went to block the shot, it seemed they both had the ball and Stuckey wouldn’t let go. And when your 215lbs going up against a dude that out ways by 100+ you should of just let go of the ball.
November 17th, 2008 at 4:08 pm
BEdger says:
I’ve been shaq as long as I’ve been playing ball (I play against normal sized guys but I’m 6′8″ and 320lbs) and I can tell you that nearly every foul I commit, the other guy thinks I’m trying to kill him. I’m not, but when you are as big as I am, guys just fly off of you. Shaq is trying to make the same play that Amare might make, but his impact is much greater because he’s Shaq. It’s a completely bogus call to toss him for playing hard….what a joke
November 17th, 2008 at 4:32 pm
jackass says:
how can you laugh at your teammates after a foul like that kwame???? wow, seriously.
anyways stuckey wanted a poster, and sometimes that’s what you get in return.
November 17th, 2008 at 4:35 pm
dagwaller says:
Ha, jack, I was thinking the same thing.
Yea, that was a bogus F2. Give him a flagrant MAYBE, but funnily enough, Shaq is spot on with his physics argument. He looked like he was going for ball and got the guy’s hands. So if Stuckey keeps his arms straight, what’s going to happen? He’s going to fall.
