The Best One-on-One Matchup Of The Week

Dwyane WadeDwyane Wade

Tonight in Miami, we could see one of the best matchups of the week, if not the entire season. Dwyane Wade, who is as hot as anyone in the League, will go at Ron Artest.

Ron-Ron has been the focus of some negative pub recently in Houston as he recently said something about not have a problem shooting 30% from the field for the rest of the season if his team still won.

“I’m shooting great,” Artest said. “I love 30 percent. I’ll take it any day. No, I love 30 percent on the offensive end, too. I don’t mind.”

(No matter what Artest says, there is always someone who criticizes him. If anyone else in the League said that, they’d be praised as “selfless.”) And with that, I’d imagine that Ron will be particularly charged up to prove his worth on D

Wade has posted 40 and 38 in his last two, but he’s done so against a bunch of no-name defenders.

Do you think Artest can shut Wade down tonight?

Wade’s on a whole new level this season. He’ll get his. Miami will still lose.

  2. CitizenB says:

I heard Ron Ron was at the club club till late last night. SoBe = visiting team killer. Y’all don’t know how to act when you come down and then you can’t play!

How exactly is this article http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/sports/bk/bkn/6128945.html negative pub?

It’s basically saying that Ron doesn’t care if he gets big numbers, he only cares about the tally in the win column. It’s also the only article talking about it… even the comments section isn’t negative and that’s a doggone miracle.

Why does the media try to create controversy where there is none?

At any rate, this should be a fun matchup to watch, so you are right about that.

wade has improved this year but Ron-Ron puts that body on him it’s a wrap.Theres only one cat in the game that can really go at Artesie and that’s Kobe.

  5. Jah says:

I think D-Wade’s momentum now is too much for Ron-Ron. D-Wade drops 29 tonight.

  6. Kermit the Washington says:

What the heck did Artest say? That didn’t make sense to me; did I miss something? I keep reading it over and over…

“I’m shooting great,” Artest said. “I love 30 percent. I’ll take it any day. No, I love 30 percent on the offensive end, too. I don’t mind.”

    Uh…..WHAAAAAAT?!?!

Back in Wade’s rookie season, the Heat were matched up against the very hot Pacers in the 2nd round. Wade was going berserk (surprise), and the Pacers thought throwing Artest on him would make it stop.

Wade proceed to give Ron-Ron the bidness, and it wasn’t pretty. That’s pretty much where I realized Wade was special. I expect no different tonight.

What I do expect is for Haslem to age another six years tonight trying to guard Yao. Ouch.

  8. E$ says:

Yao & Dwight Howard matchup not blog worthy anymore…lol

  9. Jones says:

    Wade is best baller. Period.

  10. Damon says:

wade will probably get his, but saying he will destroy artest because he had a good series against the pacers in 04 is a little much.
wade scored around 20 back then, that isn’t going bererk in my book. and that while he could bolster his stats because he also got defended by tinsley.

  11. LakeShow84 says:

Wades on steroids but its working for him so he’ll keep on climbing the intensity ladder until he crams one of Artest..

Or bites his ear.. either or..

But really i havent seen Dwade on this level EVER.. dudes playing like Kobe played post shaq the first year.. trying to do everything (which might result in a injury pretty soon.. ala deja vu) but the sad part is they are STILL losing.. This should teach Marion to pipe down about his worth..
I LUV the Matrix but he isnt what everyone (including himself) thought he would be when he thought he was shackled in Phoenix and just wanted the chance to get out and make it somewhere else as a #2 option.. that was dumb of us.. he wanted more touches and now he is getting them but putting up the same numbers.. if not worst..
And i think Steve Nash’s numbers are suffering without Marion too.. He got 3-5 assists on Marion alone plus extra possessions (matrix sniffs loose balls out like NOBODY) plus the spacing Marion created when running the floor gave Nash those lovely open threes in transition..
Sad but both their windows are closed..
Oh my bad Shaq’s bout to bring a ring to planet orange.. I luv the fact we get to step on their asses now.. Too bad Antoni jumped ship so fast..

  13. John says:

Wade goes for 36 on Ron Ron grills … book it.
