The LeBron James Media Circus
We’re at the Izod Center in New Jersey tonight for the absolute media insanity that surrounds LeBron James and his Cleveland Cavaliers. Seriously, players should be warned multiple times before signing with, being drafted by, or being traded to a team that has LeBron. There were easily 40 members of the media surrounding LeBron as he did some stretches about 75 minutes before tip-off. But he continued to do this ballerina-type stretch as if he were alone in a ballroom. His level of focus is astounding.
And while LeBron gets swarmed, the rest of his team gets to relax in peace. Ben Wallace was bumping some Eminem in his headphones. Delonte West, who is a genuinely nice dude, was enjoying a pre-game snack of two hot dogs. It was getting close to time that he had to get going, so he just downed the last one sans bun.
If tonight’s atmosphere is nuts, imagine what it’s going to be like in a week when he comes to New York.

Everyone from NY is prob. in New Jersey peopel can’t wait that long!!! lol. LB is making a case for MVP of the year. Kudos to him.

rlf – that’s what I thought, but I asked Delonte West if it was actually like this all the time, or if this was rare because it’s NJ/NY. And he said that it’s like this literally everywhere they go.

Is this the same DIMEMAG that for the past three years has done nothing but dog LeBron and the Cavs? Is this the same DIMEMAG that I accused, just last year, of having an institutional bias against LeBron — a charge which the editors never refuted (and, thus, tacitly admitted)? What happened here, Dime? Has the institutional bias been addressed?
This begs a further question — DIMEMAG, or DUMBMAG?
