Chris Paul (photo. Chad Griffith)A few minutes before the Blazers and Hornets tip-off, Portland color analyst Mike Rice — one of the League’s notorious homer announcers — was breaking down the Chris Paul vs. Steve Blake matchup. As a graphic popped up on screen showing just how much CP kills Blake in every stat category and the Blazers’ play-by-play man just hyped CP up as an MVP candidate, Rice says “I think it’s going to be a great matchup!” As evidence, he cited Blake’s high free throw percentage and the fact that he can stretch the D with his outside shooting. Cool, good for Blake. Now how does that help his ankles from getting shattered tonight?

CP didn’t even look like he was trying to get at Blak tonight. What is he saving himself for later? Not smart in the west.

I like when the blazers announcers said “You appreciate the Rose Garden noise when you hear a quiet joint like this one & Miami” - I don’t know if it’s Youtube material, but still funny

Hornets gave the crowd nothing to get excited about. They are playing like they are sleep. But then maybe that’s the atmosphere in the Big Easy.
I doubt the 20/10 streak really mattered to cp. He already had the record without even knowing about it.

CP didn’t care about that streak. Only cares about the W. He don’t mind not having any points as long as he can get a win. He probably prefers a win streak rather than some geek stat streak. Roc, you’re right. They get excited when there’s something to get excited about. Posey’s big 3’s down the stretch gave them plenty to be excited about. But yeah, I hate listening to that old dude that calls the games for the Blazers. His old a** needs to retire.

For me the ultimate homer will forever be Sean Elliot. I think they’re paying him Bron money to be such a cold blooded ass kisser.
