Trevor Ariza Patterns His Game After Lamar Odom

In the Lakers’ locker room after last night’s win against the Nets, Trevor Ariza talked about how he’s made strides trying to follow in Lamar Odom‘s footsteps. In many ways, L.O. is probably a great example on the court for Ariza. He’s talented, skilled, and most importantly, he cares enough to help guide a young player along.

Trevor could use to stick to his own fashion sensibilities though, as his jacket is a better look than the half-nylon half-fur vest Lamar is rocking.

Lamar chalked Ariza’s development up to the fact that the dude’s gotta go against Kobe every day in practice. There’s no doubt that would help anybody’s game – or cause some type of psychological distress.

Of everyone in the League, who do you think would be best to take you under their wing?

Gilbert Arenas should teach me how to stay relevant without doing what I’m paid to do AND be an asshole who talks so much. Hibachi, please mentor me!!!

    ^^^ Funny!

Derek Fischer because he has a been around for a long time and has seen everything. He knows what it’s like to be an underdog and a champion. He has played with the best (Shaq and Kobe) and he knows the importance of teamwork and a positive locker room environment (think Shaq and Kobe break-up). He also seems to have a lot of heart and a good one at that.

    Tim Duncan

Eric Snow. I’d love to be a NBA point guard for many years without being able to make a single shot from the perimeter.
Oh, and Marko Jaric. Not because of his game on the court, but because he must be doing something right with his off court game… (you know what I’m talking about!)

  6. Big Sia says:

None other than Brian Scalibrine. I’d love to learn how to get fat, win rings, make millions and still talk trash on the mic… and smoke blunts with KG and the Truf

    Legends wise, Wilt.

    20 Grand.

    Nuff said

    KG, Ray, T-mac

All superstars who manage to be humble (at least off the court) and have never been involved in off the court bs that we’ve heard of

    Chris Wallace.

CW can teach me how to be one of the most incomptent GM in the league and still can keep getting jobs. My mentor Chris Wallace was so sought after that Pitino gave up a draft pick to New York just to get him. The reward to the Boston Celtics was sending Chauncey (avg 11pt and 4assist) in his rookie year to the T’Wolves and trading Joe Johnson away as a rookie for Delk and Rodney Rogers. Even after all of this, my mentor still got another job in Memphis and the rest is history.

That’s why I want Chris Wallace to be my mentor.

I think hes harder than Lamar.. he doesnt disappear when his shot isnt falling and can defend HARD..

And even though hes past his prime i love watching him own Grant Hill everytime they play lol.. Ariza is a starting 3 on 70% of the teams in the NBA..

  11. LakeShow84 says:

And we got him for duds!

Mitch Kupchak is one bad mofo..
